Community Adventure: The Domain of Hurricanes [NEW]
« on: August 26, 2009, 04:12:00 am »

Hai!

Since the old saved got fcuked up because a flash drive that managed to die on me with the only version AND backup of the old community adventure I will have to start a new one.

To prevent shit like this to happen I'll have double backups after each decision/step you guys do on two computers, a new USB flash drive, and two online file sharing services.

I'm terribly sorry because this happened and I hope you will forgive me.

Go here to play!!!

Hai!

Ok, let's start a game. I saw something similar on other forums for freeform RPG's but we'll play this a bit different. I'll run a game where this community will decide what happens with the forest and it's inhabitant(s).

The rules are simple:
  • I describe the situation/place/event/whatever.
  • The first reply decides on the next action. In case of an invalid action the following reply decides, and so on.
  • No suicidal actions (unless it's the last resort)!
  • I describe the what happened and we start over again.

I will, of course, spam you with tons of 3D images (almost all custom drawn and "rendered", I have 3D objects prepared) about what happened to make this fun.

So the first situation/question is:
Solitary or 7 dwarves adventure?

I vote solitary adventurer.

It was a long journey for Urdim Okirezum. Seven dwarves started on a journey to start a new dwarven burrow. Everything was good until they reached the Teeth of Rabble, a sinister mountain range. Crossing it cost the lives of 6 dwarves and most of their stock. Urdim managed to reach the other side of the mountain range to the Rough Murk forest. He has some basic tools, some food and seeds left, a few pieces of leather, some rope, and what wooden logs he managed to gather on the cart. There is also a surviving wardog with him.

He feels terribly alone and has already saw some wild animals including a tiger and a few slugmen. What should he do next?

(map coming as soon as I get home from work!)

Urdim has dug out a habitat for himself:

(what you see is 3 levels underground with unworked stone walls and floor)

What next?

Try to make a crude hatch out of the logs to close the entrance.

He took up his tools and after a few hours the grate was made to secure the entrance. What next?

Hm, I'd say install the grate if it hasn't been done already, otherwise chain the dog in the stairs to ensure "maximum" safety.

Could we have a bit more data about the area ? Is there a soil layer, for instance ?

This is a small screenshot of the area before the hatch was installed and the dog chained. 3D image of the whole area and closeup of the entrance hidden in the spoiler!

Thanks!

Everything is safe and secure. What should Urdim do next?

Dig out a farm in the soil layer.

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

Dig out a farm in the soil layer.
Farm successfully dug but there was some stone so it's smaller than Urdim wanted it to be originally. He has planted some Plump helmets there. The dog is happily barking every time he enters the habitat through the hatch.

Can we do something more RPG-esque, or are we basing this all on DF?

Have him try to befriend a slugman.
