That's the other thing about juggalos. They're like other obsessive fan groups; they turn one particular artist (or group of artists, or... anything else in life, really) and turn it into their entire lives.

It's spooky and scary, and if you think that Insane Clown Posse of all people (or, hell, any single artist or band) have the only music worth buying, I can't imagine how you've listened to a lot of music.

Love how your getting so fanatic against their music, heh.

Anyways, listened to a fair bit of music in my time, Rammstein, Loreena Mckennit and a few other artists are quite up there in my favorites, they just don't seem worth buying though since it takes alot for me to actually want an album (19 years of life and only bought one album ever)

Edit: Isn't being against a band because of their fans kinda like hating dwarf fortress because someone you don't like plays it?

Oh god, you guys were talking about Insane Clown Posse?  I didn't know they were still around.  I last remember them being popular like ten years ago, when their discography of weirdo violence and swearing was all the rage in junior high.  I thought the whole thing was a joke and went along with it, because hey that stuff was funny.  Except there was this guy who was way too into the band.  Way.

Same, then again I was just listening to Zug Izland so I'm zen as a Buddhist.

See, this is why it's important to quote people in arguments, because you almost had me convinced that he'd actually said something against their music and not just their fans.

ICP don't need any help from their fanbase to be horrifically bad.

Like religiously bought every album, read every article printed on them, had shirts and posters, and converted a shed into a black-light induced music hall just for listening to it.

Not surprisingly, he was a paragon of social retardation and super-fluent in sexual slang and a super fundamentalist Christian.  Why I ever, even briefly, hung around with the guy I can't recall anymore.

I had something quoted but I deleted it by accident and couldn't be arsed going back and fixing it...  :D

Edit: I think its well known that fanatics of ANYTHING are bad, music, religion, elves, even dwarf fortress fanatics are bad.

Oh, I'm not. I don't like the band because I don't like the band. Then again, the fact that they try to actively maintain some sort of weird midwestern trailer-park sense of cult-of-personality doesn't help. The fanbase just annoy me on a whole other level.

This is pretty much a summary of what your stereotypical "Juggalo" is like, to the letter. I knew a lot of them from college.

I also seem to remember some music festival of theirs getting canceled because they have some tendency to basically get kicked out of whatever place they're doing it at. Nice going.

Can't be the gathering since they've been able to have it every year since 2000 I think, though the police tear gassed them one year.

Quote
After 2002, the Gathering became an outdoor event, and was held at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park for a number of years. Following the 2005 Gathering, Quarry Park owner Evan Kelley stated that the grounds will no longer host the event. Kelly has said: "Psychopathic Records broke some of the rules set down for the 2005 event, including blasting music all night long", and: "Drugs, alcohol, nudity, profanity and trash also became serious problems."

This is what I was thinking of, for the record.

Last.fm works pretty well, if you ignore the retards commenting.
I've found tons of good bands, just by following the "Similar Artists" links and seeing if you like them.

Oh fuck I hate Juggalos. There was a ton back in my college too, they were all pretty much copy pastes of each other, it was disgusting. What was really sad though is when one gave a clumsy come one and tried to pick a fight with me when I insulted him back. One punch to the face and he was crying like a baby.

Sure I got fined but it was totally worth it.
