^ This person speaks the truth.

However, one thing i hate above all is people who have a blind hate for vista. Seriously, most have not even tried it, or tried it with the latest patches.

My very first OS was Windows 98. I miss it.

Vista's okay, but a bit flashy. So it eats up all my processing power just rendering my desktop.

Yeah, having used both mac and windows, I'm of the opinion that windows is better.
Think of it this way:
Mac is the really popular fps (Halo) and windows is the game that is hated on by everybody who hasn't really tried it (any roguelike).
Also, the whole "user friendly" deal with macs.
I don't think so.
Then there's lack of support.
I want to play GearHead 2 on a windows, I just download it.
I want to play it on a mac, I have to fumble around trying to figure out how the hell I'm supposed to run FPC to compile the game.
And the aforementioned lack of tinkering.
Macs aren't really all that great, they just look nice.
Hell, I use a microsoft wireless mouse with my mac. It works way better than the mighty mouse.
Why one button? 3 is way better. I can right click, scroll, and middle click.

Your computer must be really shit if its eating up processing power rendering a few bars :P

More likely you mean its utilizing more ram, however that's no problem as it drops everything that's not dedicated to the new task out of the ram the instant you make actual use of it.

Actually, you got it right the first time. My laptop is absolute shit. :(

(I understand, however, that that's my fault for buying an ass-laptop with vista installed. I should have sprung for an older OS instead, like XP)

No, it's more like Mac is Dance Dance Revolution, Windows is Spore, and Linux is the Rougelike.

Spore = Vista.
 Source Engine = XP.
 A VERY important difference.

How the hell is Mac like Halo? Not only is halo literally by/for PC, it's not populated by empowered (sic: confused) snobs.

Anyway, what about Win7? I've been hearing good things about it; supposedly it's just what Vista was supposed to be.

I have Vista and I hate it. 196 MB of RAM, seriously? I didn't have Acrobat Reader open at that time, but if I did, it'd show that it's using up 60 MB of RAM at the time.

I don't like the direction that Windows is going. They're just going more and more memory inefficient in time, and that's a waste of a whole lot of resources. For one thing, they're spurring on progress, but then again, they're wasting it.

I hate the way Mac goes even more, rather arrogant, ever since they stepped into the industry.

Linux is the exact opposite of Windows, I suppose.. a good and bad thing at once.

Soooo.. yeah. I'm gonna stick with Windows because I could say "Open Winamp" into a microphone, and it'd do just that. No need to click! Ease of use FTW.

Y'know what? I use an iMac and it sucks. But it sucks less than everything else. The UI sucks, but less so than Windows' UI, and everything looks so much nicer. The application model and the dock and the finder and Safari all have major problems but still are much better and nicer than anything found on Windows. The only thing that is seriously worse than Windows is the Mac way of installing applications.

I've used Linux before and it was nice, but Mac OS X gives me the same amount of power with much less hassle.

And last but not least: The design! It is wonderful!

The problem with vista is everyone jumped on the bandwagon and sold shitty computers with it on. My parents bought a packard bell pc from pc world with vista. It has 1gb ram and 1.8Ghz dual core processor. I could make a cup of tea while it loads. When my dad can be bothered, i'm gonna help install xp back on. Also windows 2000 = my second favourite os, after xp. Yes, i have been on a mac a few times. The person who actually owned had bought a pirated copy of xp to play the sims 2 on. I loled.
