There is no fun in Urbandead in the sense of fun in Dwarf Fortress. You never have fun.

All you ever do is give out headshot-funs, needle-funs, or infectious-funs, but people'll just shrug it off as part of any normal days. At least, 's what I do.

Ridleybank? We can't even hold Caiger when the days were good. *crys*

Well, I have about 5 alts, with 3 around Yagoton and surrounding suburb (one right in the YRC, sticking needles and watching "to talk" GK and PK), 1 somewhere near Scarletwood (Drop by the Garniss Building for a drink!), and 1 in Caiger re-living the good ol' days. If there's any insane dorf-like plans, I can jump in... If it's not too far away from Yagoton.

You're aware of the Dwarf Fortress definition of fun, right? It's what will happen should you attack the RRF.

Aye, aye, all them fun would entail is about 6 AP if you get headshotted, not biggie and not fun enough... Unlike the two other cities, where one of them you perma-zombie, and the other you have the nature of perma-fun if you got a headshot. Or something, I haven't been there...

Well, as long as you are an Oppotunist like me, who plays for both side willingly and follows the way a zombie/survivor should act in a zombie-infested world, getting the fun is, well, part of everyday life in Malton. :P

Of course, I can always break off from the oppotunistic nature for a bit and do other stuff... Most the groups I've been in are small, dissolved, or a bunch of trenchcoaters. :(

@Phantom: Hmm...  a you will eventually lose in the end... its the jouney that counts anyways, not the destination.

I've read about Blackmore/Ridleybank...
Sounds cool, I'll show up with a char once I get a few skills.  Need to be prepared...
And I guess talk around the nearby malls... see if there are a few who could help with taking a foothold....

Plan out the main HQ and supply routes ahead of time...  Depending on how fast the RRF and other zombie hordes respond, we want to decide which buildings get taken, repaired and fortified first.  If we want to have a chance of making it memorable...

Here's a better idea. Don't fortify. Don't barricade. Don't rebuild. Hide in ransacked buildings if you must, even if it is risky. If you have a 'devivie' wish, at least get the zombies to search for you and hunt you down.

One ground rule for the invasion: Once you are in Ridleybank, you can't get out until you die. This is to prevent people from running into Ridleybank, claim victory, then run out. No, you have to stay there.

Just hiding in ransacked buildings?  It would work I guess, if our numbers are very low...  and stay low.  Hell, we won't attract anything but ferals...
No dwarven glory to be had.  No zombie horde to wipe us out.

The ground rule works, no turn tail and run until we are dead...  Though, places like the near-by malls are important for supplies and reinforcements...

Victory is demoralizing and repelling the enemy.
Victory is holding out, despite all their efforts.
It can only end in sadness.

AHem, time for a speech.
"Hello? Is this thing on? My name is Pvt. Daniels "Stabme", my plan is to take back ridleybank, to times when the infections were low, in the name of redemption, we will take back that suburb with extreme prejudice, any slip ups might be our doom, I will take a scouting party there soon, our Main HQ shall be Lovell Auto Repair, our forward base will be the the Travis Building in Roach Town, come now my Brothers, with GDI, we shall re obtain the city by taking down one of the bases of the RRF, FIGHT FOR FREEDOM!"

We don't need reinforcements unless we're dying, and if we're dying, we already lost. Besides, if you stock yourself up on syringes and FAKs before entering Ridleybank, you could revive and heal those that do die. Also, no ammo. Killing zombies are pointless, survival should be the key.

Oh, and no speeches. We're in Malton, a city of perpetual conflict. I guess you could say we're doing it for fun and dravwen profit, get in the good graces of the RRF so that they like what we're doing, but...no, I don't even feel like that either.

I don't have any feeling against the RRF, I even admire them. I'm pro-Zombie than pro-Human. And yet, I'm bored.

I realize that if you want to hold buildings, you'll need ammo to clear zombies and ammo to kill zombies that break in. I don't think we got enough organization to hold any building though, and the goal, for me at least, is survival.)

Actually. While we run around and hide in ransacked buildings, we could then launch a propganda campagin and let the RRF know. Don't call it an invasion, of course not. Say that we're trying to find...HFS...yeah, let call it that. We got evidence that HFS is in Ridleybank, we're only there to verify those rumors, do not think of interfering with our investigation, we're only here for peaceful means.

Decided to play Urban Dead again. My guy's name is Jarvous (Jervous was another one of my characters) and he's a necrotec. I'm in Malton. Owsley Bank. The Pile Building. I'm bunking with a high leveled guy.
