Hmm, how many shots does the pistol have? The muzzle flash from the pistol might light things up for about a split second... If it ever comes to having to use it, pay ATTENTION to your surroundings when you do, might catch some more detail in that split second.

Also, if anybody remembers that episode of survivor man where he starts a fire using the gun he was required to carry for protection in a particularly dangerous area, that might be handy, I don't remember how he did it though... Disassemble a shell, get the powder on something flammable, then shoot it with another bullet?

EDIT: Ah, I found it, but he used a rifle, and it took a few tries...

Firing a gun probably isn't the best idea, at best whatever we can see will also see us, and at worst we'll attract dozens of zombies. We should do sneaky stuff until we know we can easily kill whatever's out there.
