When will it end? I'm on year 3 of a four-year degree that will take me five years to finish. That's what I get for transferring. They always find a few classes that they won't accept.

Tomorrow's the last day of my first week of classes. I had to learn Java in a day or two for CS2 as that's what they were taught in CS1. Apparently I'm strange for knowing Ada and C++. I would rather run everything from the command line, but apparently I have to use Eclipse for the projects. That was not a problem last year.

I traded my UNIX guru professor at the previous school, who I loved having classes with, for a Windows guy at this place, who seems to be okay. Last place had a computer lab full of Linux machines. The only Linux machine here is the CS server I can't even log into yet.

The professors mostly seem to be Doctors. I'm embarrassed whenever my history prof uses a computer, though. He takes all of Windows' faults as if they happen on every computer everywhere. He also speaks of e-mail transmissions.

CS2 prof crashed notepad on the second day of class. We have a 184MB txt file (!!!) that we have to use as input to one of our programs. He decided to double click on it.

Campus went from around 500 people to 10000. Big change.

Despite all of the negatives, I love it here.

If we're on the topic of curricular oneupsmanship, I'm juggling four AP classes (The maximum without taking an AP language, but I already speak chinese fluently) and head of a department (group, more like) in an engineering club that regularly takes part in national/international level competitions.

Next year, I'm taking three aide classes (or sit-around-and-do-nothing classes), and sleeping through the rest :)

I'm three quarters of my way through the final year at highschool. Off to university next March. Although passing may be all that matters for employers, when your from a lower-middle income family who can't afford to put you through University, grades do matter. A lot. I am pretty much required to get a scholarship if I want to get a degree in Engineering. I am currently one of the top science and math students, but that ain't saying much as my school isn't particularly brilliant. I have a chance of getting a scholarship but being lazy I have left everything to the last minute and am only now applying when the due date is the 10th of September. Answering these "How and why I have chosen my intended programme of study" and "Why am I applying for this scholarship, how will it make a difference to my financial position" questions isn't my strong suit. Any advice?

For Q2, say it plain and simple. "I won't be able to attend a university without scholarships, due to my family's income state".

I'm a Sophomore in AB LIT (EN) - English Lit. I have a lot of time on my hands.

I love this course.

If that's the case, he must be privately educated. He would be doing IGCSEs about 3 years early and A-Levels 5 years early and at the same time. Given that most people struggle with the workload for A-Levels alone, that's hyper-productive.

....

Woah.

Nah, I go to a public school... But I do top the country in tests... -.-

Sorry I mean't that I do IGCSE and occasionally A level.

It's cause what we learn is... inconsistent yet pretty hardcore. I used to be outside (excluding school) for around 4 hours on school days and now... Hell, I only go out on weekends... -.-

My social life is shrinking! Argh, I'm scared.

And Yeh, A levels sure are so bloody damn hard you want to cry.

Yet, you guys are way more hardcore.

We're getting latops next term. We get to keep them.

GO AUSTRALIA

Also, went to high school in year 7, now in year 9.

And I'm going to school now.

I'm getting my laptop in September, but I'm honestly not very excited about it. They're very small with (to my knowledge) no graphics cards. They seem to be designed to handle Microsoft Word and not much else.

Yeah, not really excited either. i doubt I'll get it this year (wireless infrastructure for it not up.) But you cannot deny free shit, even if it isn't the best.

Hell, I may buy myself a normal laptop for Christmas.

Oh sorry, I guess you just work way harder than I do.

Eh, well I'm actually failing.

What do I care? I just stab.

Funny that, a guy in my school got expelled for stabbing a teacher.

Stabbitty Rabbitty.
