I've always been a fan of the Arcanum soundtrack.  Mostly modern string quartet stuff mixed with the occasional bit of percussion. I find it matches the pace of the game nicely, and even compliments the mood of Toady's great piece.

I really love the guitar riff in the game. I never get bored of it and wish there was more little riffs. Reminds me of the original 'Diablo' soundtrack - great, moody, atmospheric music with a prowling-guitar-sound.

Figured I'd bring this up again instead of making a new topic.

Pandora Radio just brought up a song called "Adamantine." So yeah. Okay, the lyrics don't actually fit that well but at least it's power metal which imo is perfect for playing DF to.

Ohhh, this reminds me.

My friend and I were bored one day in school, he was messing about with DF and we came up with an idea. Change the in-game music.

The menu has the imperial march on it. I then suggest Hell March from Red Alert be the music played in game. We had a nerd-gasm.

Hey, I'm the nerdiest guy I know, and I don't really listen to metal all that much. However, I do listen to some game music from time to time.
Oh my god, I can't believe nerdiest is actually a word.

I don't know about fitting, but I listen to Safety Dance (Music Video Version) while playing Fortress Mode, and Separate Ways by Journey while playing Adventure mode.

Well I like rock, and only a little game music. Infact other than the music from the older C&C games and a select few songs I don't care about.

Nothing wrong with that. It's just strange that I've never heard of one that likes something different, ie. reggae, jazz, trip hop or whatnot. (Myself excluded)

I guess industrial rock would be the dwarfiest genre? :P
