Aren't Rhesus Macaques actually whales?
They're actually a special ore. Instead of being mined, they're hunted from between the trees and instead of producing metal, they produce food: rhesus pieces.

Let's get this party started. Here's some story.

From Urist McHistorian's On the History of Dwarves.
It was the year 300, a time of great conflict. After centuries of glorious constructions, fortresses, and magma architecture, the Dwarven civilization was at their prime. Tragically, it all came to an end. The Tall Ones, in their jealousy of our achievements and their fear of magma, formed the a alliance - The Tall Order. In the following years, The Tall Order waged a merciless war on the dwarves.

In 302, an army of dwarves, desperate for a stronghold to mount their war against the Tall Ones, successfully conquered an Orcish Dark Fortress. So begins the story of Ferosod, "Beastbones"...

The dwarves:

Blah, Organizer/Appraiser/Socializer

Iznogud, Proficient Grower/Building Designer

Magua, Proficient Engraver/Brewer

Cazador, Proficient Metalsmith/Mechanic

Kosoth Unnoslorbam, Proficient Carpenter/Stone Crafter

Kivish Lolorottem, Proficient Miner/Mason

IHateOutside, Proficient Miner, Novice Mason, Stone/Bone Crafter

Methane Dioxide, Skilled Hammerdwarf, Wrestler, Shield User, Armor User

MastaODisasta, Proficient Cook/Grower

Samus, Competent Wood Cutte/Wrestler, Skilled Axedwarf

IMPORTANT! MOD UPDATED AS OF 9/25!

There were problems with dwarves not being intelligent in fortress mode. It's been fixed. Download the latest version here!

Also, due to the three dark fortresses made of obsidian, the starting wealth of the fortress is 160,000.

Nightmare mode, anyone?

Huzzah for nightmare mode!

Also, there's some weirdness with the dwarf profiles.  There appears to be some repeats, and one of them is sideways.

Hm. That's strange. It was normal when I first posted it.

I'll try to fix it now.

It seems that photobucket turned it sideways on its own. I edited it to turn correctly, but the thumbnail in photobucket is now sideways.

Anyway, fixed.

EDIT: Oh god it turned sideways in front of my eyes.

EDIT2: Fixed again, I'm keeping my eye on you...

No, mayday won't mess with the save.

Aquifer is only on the other half. I'm starting on the half without.
