Oversize tileset
« on: August 24, 2009, 06:16:40 am »

I've started making a hand-drawn tileset for use with 40d13+, taking advantage ofthe zoom and alpha channel features.

everything is hand-drawn, and looks a lot like it was made with a pencil.

it's far from done, but I thought I'd post some screenies:

Looks pretty interesting, i'd rather see a HD pixel graphics but this tileset may look very interesting when it's done

I could be wrong.  What would you call it when you spend that much time obsessing over something that it turns out you don't even like?
Relationships?

Yes Mayday there's a zoom feature now, it was introduced in D13 i think.

If i recall D14 automagically works out the tile size, so if you give it bigger tiles, it should automagically make the view more bigger in-game.

D14 auto figures the grid based on window size, but ATM it has issues zooming in (which they have a fix for, but that'll have to wait till D15).  With D13 you can zoom in on any tile set no problem (least that I'm aware of).

Ah, so that's why I wasn't able to zoom in properly. Thanks.

EDIT: Nope, playing d13 with a 32x32px tileset and still no zoom-in possible (beyond 16x16 tiles that is).

EDIT2: LORDY, I am getting insane! This is a function I've been waiting for for over a year and I can't get it to work!! D:

EDIT3: okay, I am able to zoom in but the horizontal amount of tiles stays 80 (so 16px horizontally, sometimes more vertically) which is NOT GOOD AT ALL

Honestly, trying to use any of the new 'enhanced' versions causes tremendous problems for me. I've never seen DF crash before I tried out the new versions, so I'm back to Toady's last release instead.
