The stuff you are doing with individual combat is really interesting, but if I'm going to sit through a podcast, I definetly want to hear about Megabeasts... The Bronze Colossus holds a special place in my heart, it should definetly appear on the box art.

I've voted Mega-Beasts, I love these podcasts, even the small teaser-things, can't wait for the big one.

What kind of statues are your masons making, that you think they have "maximum exposure"?
(Full frontal ones, apparently.  With very short beards.)

I like your voice and calm way to talk, Tarn. Usually talking people just piss me off.

Making the gargantuan statues who walk the earth and crush nations have a molten core is the OPPOSITE of what should happen here.

A walking statue of metal should be neigh invulnerable. What, is a dwarf going to hit it with a hammer? No. That would do nothing.

Magma, magma, magma. Failing that, hide and don't come out.

where's your dwarven ingenuity?  you could drop a mountain on it, you can shoot it with metal ballista bolts, or send out a horde of adamant equipped and armored dwarves to hack him down to size.

Think big, think dwarven, do all these at the same time.

And then hold an absurdly elaborate funeral ceremony for all the champions that burned in the magma, got crushed by a mountain, or got impailed in the back by a ballista bolt before getting anywhere near their target.

Argh. These are all very good.
I went with Mega-beasts, since I think we've heard the least about those.

The podcast was excellent, can't wait.

This was a great idea, it's very interesting to hear what Toady has to say in person as well as in the dev now.

Personally I can't wait to here about what we'll see in sieges the update after this one, but megabeasts and individual combat are both more pertinent to this update, and frankly they're all great choices.

If we could cover them all to some extent that would be awesome!

I don't mean to derail but I would love to see that video and explanation.

I think this is what he was talking about: http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=1709.msg24481#msg24481

I never realized that Muppets are the inspiration for the goblins in DF!

Great previews! I love the music, it adds atmosphere... The end of the first file is especially nice, the sounds of Toady playing with Scamps fading away, and the music... Nice!

Finally somebody unerstands my tender artistic heart!

Ultimate Weapon: BOREDOM!

Maybe hiding is the ultimate defense:  If the megabeast can't kill something or distroy something after a while it should get bored and leave.

Or it could go all [Building_Destroyer3] and wreck up everything until it finds something to kill.
