Well maybe some ghosts decided to explore the universe? Or maybe being a ghost has some kind of power exchange. Build up enough energy to present yourself to the physical world for 10 seconds kinda thing. Some people just can't keep focus long enough (or may not even realize that they can!). I dunno.

All I'm saying is "ghosts".

There's a problem with that whole explore the universe thing: Time. Ghosts do not travel faster then light, and it might take you hundreds of years just to get to mars. You'd go insane in that kind of time.

And what information do we have on the top-speed of ghosts?

ghosts are already dead. If they're still sane something is wrong. Also: They got infinite time, what's 100000 years to Mars?

Hey, maybe the reason so few ghosts show themselves is because most of them go insane after death! Death seems a pretty traumatizing thing after all.

Things we know about ghosts:
1) They spooky.
2) invisible?
3) dead.
4) immaterial
5) BOO!

If they go insane, wouldn't that make them more likely to reveal themselves?

No, because they don't know how! Let's just assume that it takes extreme force of will for a ghost to show itself. That's why being an insane ghost doesn't work out. Can't devout that kinda effort cause you're craaaaazy

Just because you're crazy does not mean that you are lacking in will.

While we're at it, lemme wax poetic.

Anon is a gibbering, mutant thing with a hundred thousand eyes and a hundred thousand mouths. It never rests, never sleeps, never needs to take a breath and stop talking. It only watches - and judges.

Also it posts NSFW pictures.

This is the second time I have heard someone say wax _____. First time, My major advisor when answering non-specific questions, would say I will wax philosophical.

I'm not one to jump on the religious bandwagon, but I'd say there are things that science hasn't been able to explain.

That said, I still adopt the atheist's view that you simply stop. It'd be a bit like falling asleep, but much deeper and less remembering.

That's the thing I have trouble wrapping my head around. I mean, how could we just disappear? I just can't image my consciousness disappearing. Hell, can you?

Just because you're crazy does not mean that you are lacking in will.

Yeah but it is harder to focus your mind on ideas and make them coherent. But then again, we are defining insanity in society's terms, basically anyone that doesn't conform to general human civilization's rules and laws.

Well maybe some ghosts decided to explore the universe? Or maybe being a ghost has some kind of power exchange. There might be special laws of Physics that apply to spectral things, such as ghosts.

I can't help but remember how before magnetism was discovered magnets were called 'lodestones' and they were 'magical'.

Then when better technology came about, the Law of Magnetism was established. So, what I mean is that in the future with better technology maybe we will discover that there is indeed an afterlife and 'ectoplasm' will be called something else, maybe 'spectral energy'.

Ignorance is bliss. I prefer the truth, even if it hurts - no, especially if it hurts.
