You have. Watch it, it's good. It's like Saving Private Ryan only based on and is almost totally faithful to real events and therefore more heartstringy-tuggy and simulations more awesome.

Wasn't that Lt. Spiers? (although I did miss the second episode - sick that day of history in film class)

But yes, it's awesome.  Wonderful intro music, too.  Very swear-intensive, though; these are soldiers, after all.

Not anymore it isn't. My Goddamn laptop exploded. Well, the screen. That's where my Flash 8 and Photoshop were. Now I can't get any work done until it's fixed. :(

As in the screen is crap now and will turn to demonic static, or battery-fire explode?

I'd be dead if it was a battery fire explosion, I think.

Demonic static. I suspect it overheated.

so only the screen was damaged?  :-\ hmmm...

...

so you could still work on the laptop, just with no visual aid... you think you can move your documents onto a USB drive without seeing them on the screen? it could be possible.

You should also be able to hook the laptop up to a normal monitor. Not necessarily a great alternative, but if nothing else it's enough for you to get stuff off the laptop and onto a thumb drive.

Aye, I was planning to filch my sister's busted monitor, or failing that, hook it up to an OHP and project the screen on the wall.

Well, I'm posting this from a university computer, so that's doable. I could technically just fish my files out via the network.

Of course that just leaves the problem of Flash and Photoshop still being on there. But again, just getting a cheap old CRT monitor would work fine. It would render the laptop into a desktop, but you would be able to use it. I used my fathers old laptop like this for two years because we only had one desktop and four children who needed to use a computer.

Yeah. I don't really need portability, so that sounds workable. I just have a lot invested in that two year old hunk of junk.

I'm in the third stage right now...
My computer is about three or four years old.
