Climacophobia- Fear of stairs, climbing, or of falling downstairs.

I have this, or at least a version of it.

I am terrified of walking on stairs that aren't completely solid. That is, if there is room between the steps (wooden planks as steps), railing on both sides. I always imagine that I'd slip and fall through the one foot wide openings. It doesn't effect daily life though, it's easy to remind myself that my fears are impossible. Getting used to walking that particular set of stairs also helps.

This also applies to things similar to stairs, such as ladders, trees, rocky areas, or generally areas with varying elevation.

As I've mentioned in a different thread, I have irrational fears of a lot of things. I haven't bothered looking at the list because I don't really care for the names, and because stuff like "Fear of picking things up off the ground and discovering that they are filled with ants" just seems too specific to have a name.

My mom has a mild phobia of the cotton inside aspirin bottles.  She can't pull it out, someone else has to.  She can't even look at it, and if you squeeze it near her ears, the creaking noise freaks her out.

That's nothin'. Tons of people are freaked out by cotton. Especially the noise.

I can't open doors. Because the doorknobs scare me. It takes me about 15 seconds to work up the courage to grab a door, swing it open and slam it shut as fast as I can, IF I'm lucky. Most of the time I have to ask other people to do it.

Yes but in terms of a full fledged Phobia it isn't always a good thing even if a mild fear was acceptable.

For example with Fear of Bullets, would jumping out of a moving vehicle be good if there was a cop nearby?

You should remove the locks on the doors, attached pneumatic oscillators to the doors, attach a Clapper to the oscillators. That way, whenever you wanted to open a door, you'd only need to clap twice, and the door would open automatically.

Arachibutyrophobia- Fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth. The famous one.
Chronophobia- Fear of time. AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH
Cyberphobia- Fear of computers or working on a computer. AAAHHHHHHHH
Eleutherophobia- Fear of freedom. Mayhaps related to Stockholm Syndrome? Or of not having responsibility over ones self? Or having to make their own decisions?
Gallophobia- Fear France or French culture.
Francophobia- Fear of France or French culture. Because the French are scary enough for there to be two words for fearing them.


 And quite a few specific fears of specific countries. Haven't come across a fear of America yet though.

Some Phobias I question of they exist. I mean afterall they are derived from Latin. They can make up as many phobias as they want while keeping it as the official name.

I'm pretty sure that with enough traumatic events, it's possible for a person to link an object to those events, even if it's completely unrelated.

Don't exist? Maybe. Not possible? Probably not.

I also strongly dislike sleeping (according to the list, fear of sleeping = Hypnophobia), thou not a phobia either as it is more a calm horror and unease, and also rationally justified.

Still, it kind of sucks. On the other hand, confronting by worst fears many times every day might have some positive effects as well.

When I get my own house, I am doing exactly this. You sir, have saved me from a lot of fear in my life. (I may have to keep the locks on the outside doors. You know, for security).

Also, there are two words for fear of Germans.

Not a phobia unless you are scared of say seeing bullets on a table no where near a gun.
A phobia is by definition an irrational fear, if you are afraid of getting shot or nuked that's a rational fear because it could kill you.
