Someone must build an giant atom smasher that can smash a demon.
But please, when you'll smash the demon, be sure that it doesn't end up in my home.
I have enough demon problems like that, so I don't want to have to deal with an other demon.

So a 6x7 obsidian bridge is the greatest artifact other than planepacked. Why:

Magma in solid form
42 tiles
The ability to send things between realities

No no no.

It has to be 42 tiles and be 5x9.

Wait, we need to atomsmash an atomsmasher so that we'll have a proper, scientifically valid version. If we construct one from mere heresay then it might not work. and that would be about as much fun as having a bridge crush you to death.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

By God, we can even atom smash characters from different games if we mod them in! We can have space marines, Solid Snake, Pvt.Miller, Masterchief, even GORDON FROHMAN!

Wait !
Demons aren't gods, right ?
Demons can also destroy an atom smasher when they are atomsmashed.
This can't be because of their BUILDINGDESTROYER:2 because in that case any creature with this tag would destroy the atom smasher.
In that case it's something else. Either
 - The energy required to move the demon to an other dimension is so enormous that the atom
smasher explodes.
 - The demon generates an incredible and unknown source of energy that goes into the bridge and destroys it. In that case I think that Planepacked could destroy the atom smasher.
 - Something else.
In the two cases the problem is dued to an energy overload. We must find something that resist to that.
Adamantine.

Smash a demon with an adamantine bridge?

Anyway, I have had a revelation. BUILDINGDESTROYER:2 doesn't give them the power to destroy buildings, it gives them the power to unmake them. Therefore we must set a demon to attack Planepacked, and while it's doing so, atomsmash them both.

I'm talking about the bronze colossus. It's supposed to be made entirely of bronze.
But really he's just a softie inside. They all are really. When megabeasts come to your fort you never welcome them inside and give them a hug, do you. You heartless bastards...

You're going to have to provide a source on that one.  From what I recall Adams was forced to create a question because he'd given an answer, chose 5x9 arbitrarily and only found out later that 5x9 in base 13 is, in fact, 42.

I don't understand why do we need to smash Planepacked.
And about the adamantine bridge, if we can find adamantine in the same place as demons, there must be a reason. I think that demons master magic and their magic accidently (otherwise it wouldn't happen in any demon pit) turned the walls of their pits into adamantine, so it could resist to their dark power. That may explain why adamantine has strange properties (incredible lightness and hardness, for instance). So an adamantine atom smasher may atomsmash a demon, or at least handle the required power to move it to our world.

We have to atomsmash Planepacked so as to see it here. We HAVE to.
Also, the most widespread version is that demons were forced into the pits and emprisoned with adamantine, from which they couldn't break free.

To be fair, Planepacked only had, what, 130 pictures?

You could go to one of those giant murals and see more.

My take on adamantine is that it's the byproduct of the magic that is required to open a portal to whatever-is-under-HFS.

Rocks + magic = adamantine
