Oh. I must be thinking of something else. Could have sworn it was paracetamol though.

It wasn't really that crazy. Just kind of the vague feeling that I was in middle-earth.

Well I had the test but didn't get to say anything really...

I hope it doesn't botch the results.

So glad they were actually able to get my vien first shot this time... Being stabbed 5-10 times wasn't pleasant.

In other news, I can confirm the truth of the urban legend that if you eat poppyseed bagels, you will test positive for morphine/heroin on pee tests. I know this because it happened to my friend....really.

Was he able to explain himself? Or did he lose his job or something?

On an unrelated note, adding lemon juice will give a false negative for marijuana tests.

Now you would never need to use that knowledge, would you?

Of course, the new cannabinoid receptor drugs were looking really promising, until people started getting depressed on them.

[EDIT]

First little red-ish blisters on the 3rd day. On 5th day my belly and chest was entirely covered with small red blisters.
But that kind of reaction obviously is totally subjective and I was taking antibiotics at the same time (mainly Augmentin).

So I decided to go with the big guns. Tramadol, some 15-20 drips a day, mostly before physiotherapy.
But I've heard a lot of contrasting opinions about it, from "Great" to "OMG MORPHINE", and everything inbetween.
I've been very satisfied with it. Totally effective and very little side-effects (day-time drowsiness).

You work with this stuff, what do you think about it?
Just saw that. Yeah, the rash and blisters would be unlikely if you'd had prior exposure. I'd be much more inclined to point the finger at your antibiotics or another agent.

Oh, and I forgot to translate paracetamol into acetominophen for all you folks in the USA. They're the same, but we use the British nomenclature in my home country of Australia.

As for good old tramadol, not bad as far as opioids go, but you gotta be careful when you give it to the oldies. They tend to get the serotonergic side effects more often, and always check their seizure history. Plus it's not that useful if you're on stronger opioids in combination due to the partial antagonistic effect. Abuse is lower than others like oxycodone, but I still see people hooked on it, mostly due to the best intentions of their doctor. But hey, whatchagonnado?

[EDITEDIT]

Oh, and for IndonesiaWarMinister, you'd be surprised about what some people's religious beliefs mean regarding their medications. It doesn't happen that often, but there are some who will feel uncomfortable even taking a single tablet while fasting.

Nah he got the job, they believed him since there was no reason to believe he was abusing opiates and no other drugs showed up in his system.

Of course, that was only because he'd been intentionally not smoking weed in anticipation of a drug test. But I kind of hope we're progressing past the point where marijuana use is considered a reason to reject an entirely qualified and competent candidate for a job.

The lemon juice thing also sounds like an urban legend. Only one way to find out...well I guess there's also snopes.

I wonder what the literally command is for Ramadan fasting? In Christianity there's no doctrine regarding fasting; it just says Jesus fasted for 40 days and so people do that (not for 40 days) in the assumption there must be some benefit. Does the Ramadan thing go "don't eat and don't bang" or does it literally say not to ingest anything?

Anyway, opiates are pretty awesome for painkilling purposes, but they have hella potential for abuse. I got my appendix out and then had complications, consequently spending about 2 weeks of my life high as a kite on various opiates and I sure as hell could get addicted to those. Some of them gave me an itching reaction though, which thye solved with Benadryl, which made me have weird and uncomfortable hallucinations, such as one where the section of my torso containing my heart suddenly moved a couple feet outside of my body and then back. :(

The fasting for 40 days in the bible isn't literal - it refers to Jesus "fasting" for the rest of his life, the same way he was tempted for the rest of his life. So while some people do fast for set amounts of time (hermits a long time ago, for example), it's currently understood that to "fast" also means to be frugal and live on what you can, not merely depriving yourself of food.

Wait, really? I never remember hearing such a thing. Not that a new interpretation of the Bible is anything new, as it were...

It's the "modern" one, and the one my Priest sponsors, since it's generally accepted by that 40 days is way too long to live without food or water.

But the bit about the temptation is directly from the Gospel of Mark.

I'm intezrested in knowing the fasting conventions for Islam and Judaism though.

The one Catholics do during Lent is the "only one full meal a day" one.

To us, the 40-days-not-eating bit is for Moses, and that's because he was UNCONSCIOUS while getting the Torah in Thursine.

And...
No eating and drinking or breeding or ANY ACTIVITIES THAT IS EMOTIONAL AND DOES NOT PROFESS LOVE TO ALLAH AND TREASONIC ACTIVITIES (well just any thing that is nafsu-filled)  during the time in which the Sun is visible to us; i.e.: Subuh to Maghrib.

And... Nafsu:

nafsu
natural appetite or desire. passion, lust, itch
nafsu berkelahi
militancy
nafsu dan keinginan
passions and desires
nafsu kelana
wanderlust
nafsu makan
appetite
berhawa nafsu
sensual
hawa nafsu
passion, lust
hawa-nafsu
carnal desire, lust.
menahan nafsu
restrain
penahanan nafsu
abstinence
pengendalian nafsu
continence
zat perangsang nafsu birahi
aphrodisiac
