im confused about game versions

is 40d or 40d14 the official version of the game?  i read that there were gona be burrows or w/e in future updates for the game in the dev blog but is that a feature for 40d , 40d14 or some future game release like 41d  or something i dont get it.  since 40d14 appears in the dev blog does that mean i should be playing 40d14 not 40d because 40d14 is the "real" new version of the game or what

40d is the main version of Dwarf Fortress. All of the 40d# versions (like 40d14) are test versions of 40d with various graphical enhancements. They are not the version that Toady is working on with Squads and Burrows and whatnot. However, they are often faster then 40d, but may have some additional bugs in them.

In general, try out the 40d# versions but if they don't work just use the stock 40d.

Actually it was entirely intentional, i get some minor amusement out of misspelling words like that.

But i fully endorse the DMFA Wikupedia, because DMFA is awesome.
