DF Comics
« on: August 17, 2009, 09:17:13 am »

Has anyone else found some Dwarf Fortress themed webcomics? I was alerted to a few, and I enjoy them, so figured I would point them out to the community and ask about others.

They're funny 'cause they're true.

Damn, it appears Strike the Earth is permanently down. Somebody with saved images from it, could you please upload them for the glory of their humor?

I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.

Nope, the comics above are from http://www.threepanelsoul.com/
Strike the Earth was a dedicated DF comic. Never had more than maybe a dozen comics up, but they were good. :)

I realize that this thread is kind of a couple of months old, and also I feel like a total bastard for disappearing for so long, so apologies all around.

After an issue with my webhosting (the 'issue' being that I can barely afford to pay them, har har), I had to make some cuts to the domains I was hosting there for myself and other people. So STE went down, and I've been having such a financially miserable time since then that I just haven't had the time or drive to put it back up. Until yesterday.

The comic itself is finished. 75 one-panel pages, and once that's done running, newer comics based on Toady's development log. For the 75 page run, it's going to be updating Monday through Friday, midnight on the dot.

It can be read at its new home at smackjeeves, right here. You'll probably recognize this week's comics, so check back in a couple for a load of new pages.

Again, terribly sorry for the vanishing act  :-[ I feel like such an ass.

That's a nicer reaction than what I'd been expecting. =) To be honest, I was totally expecting pitchforks and torches and shotguns, but in a more verbal than physical way.

Yay, now I can read comics again without making them myself (plus yours are better). Hoorah!
