OMC - Orbital Magma Cannon design

So I'm using the terrifying goblins mod, and have the goblins set to terrifying. My fort is relatively isolated, so I dont get many immigrants. Which means my army is 4 legendary wrestler/adept swordsdwarves, all with light nervous injuries, and 2 legendary marksdwarves/wrestlers. I get about 6 goblin snatchers a season, and when terrifying, they are surprisingly hard to kill.

My solution so far is a minefield of cage traps, but that seems a little undwarvenly, mostly cause it doesn't involve magma. So I designed an Orbital Magma Cannon, cobbling together other designs ive seen. I still need to actually test it, and see what parts of it need to be magma-proofed, but here is the design for others who are interested in needlessly complicated ways for frying goblins.

All the pumps are Windmilled to produce a self-operated mechanism. This is only a small part of the design, which can be extended to easily cover the entire map, or outside borders.

Merely mentioning "untested cobbled together idea with no experimentation to prove its safety or effectiveness" is likely to gain the full support of any dwarven kingdom...

Can you put up some videos once you have it in use?

p.s: Do you mean my terrifying goblins? I'm not sure if they die to magma... I don't remember...

Little to no immigration means my fortress population of 45 is made up of 28 kids. I can spare a few.

Umiman: yes, they are yours, and I hope they die to magma, two simultaneous ambushes just mostly destroyed my army, and I only killed 3. The others are all caged.

I'll probably build a small testing range and set a caged goblin loose in it to make the video, as my puny 7x7 obsidian farm is not big enough to provide me with those resources, at maximum output it only gives me 51 obsidian every 3-4 minutes or so, and I don't feel like tunneling through a 5 z-level aquifer to get to stone. If I figure out how to make and post videos, I will.


Edit: One of my female legendary wrestlers/adept swordsdwarves with a light spine injury had 8 of those kids. Champion dwarves are horny bastards.

Yeah, for it to be a real orbital cannon you need to fill the entrie top Z level with magma and have hatch covers all over the map for strategic dumps on unsuspecting besiegers(as much as they can be unsuspecting once you've blocked out the sky with a huge dome covered in hatches ;p )

Jesus people, it was a prototype! that I put together in 30 minutes! The point is a pressure plate triggered magma flood onto goblins.
