Relax, this is a common occurence, was his clothes dyed red by any chance?
No.

I'll start working on the next update now, since I have nothing better to do.

Heh. o.o  :<  I acually chose a hunter knowing it was a suicidal position.  Though I had hoped I'd last longer..  Maybe I should have had you disable hunting for me untill a decent boyers / (even bone bolt) workshop was set up.   Oh well... RIP. Wait... This place is haunted.  I can totally work that into my story >.> Hells yea!

=New section begins here=

4th of Hematite
I have an idea of how to break through the aquifer! We'll see if it works.

4th of Malachite
Progression is slow, Sythun is taking too many breaks, she needs to step it up!

Gah! We needed some help here! Oh well, we can do without.

7th of Malachite
I finally got doors put on the outside of the fortress, it should give us a bit of protection against any more sasquatches.

it should also keep us out of the elements, should a freak storm come through.

18th of Malachite
Work is still slow, Sythun got herself stuck in a channel and milled about for a few days before I told her to dig herself out. I have no Idea what these people would do without me.

27th of Malachite
Some progress! I ordered a small cave to be tunneled out for farming, and it got done! Now we can grow some plump helmet!

5th of Galena
Success! My aquifer plan is working!
By channeling out the space next to and above the aquifer, I expose it to open air, thus freezing it, then by digging the ice out in the middle, we can get into the shaft and mine below the aquifer!

I'm a genius!

10th of Galena
More work on the aquifer avoidance.

27th of Galena
Half the year is almost up and we've made less progress than expected. I sort of wish there was some other way to warm up, I think I'm getting frostbite.

1st of Limestone
Hooray for autumn! The caravan is supposed to come this season! Let's hope it doesn't pass us by >:(. Building a trade depot.

7th of Limestone
We have plump helmet! Wow, those grew fast!

10th of Limestone

Yay!

What?
The trade depot isn't finished! Nor do we have anything worth trading. GET WORKING ON IT!

17th of Limestone

They want whaaaaat? I can't get most of this stuff, this is crazy!
Traded some excess barrels and doors for some stone blocks, food and some cloth.

21st of Limestone
Built a still, clothier's shop,  bowyer's workshop and craftsdwarf workshop, all out of ice, it's proving to be a great building material.

8th of Sandstone
Beds! We've got beds! Oh, I can't remember what it feels like to sleep in a bed! Now all Iv'e got to do is designate some sleeping quarters, and we'll be able to sleep in beds!

16th of Sandstone
The first bedroom! This one's all mine!

19th of Sandstone
Slept for a long time.

7th of Timber
Bedrooms are complete, everyone is happy! Unfortunately the aquifer plan didn't work as well as I thought, we still can't get through, it runs too deep.

13th of Timber
Finished a weapon stockpile, working on a goods stockpile.

21st of Timber
Finished the goods stockpile, and since we don't really need any more mining, and Sythun said she had skills with a warhammer, I say we go pound this sasquatch's head in!

(A few pages are spattered with blood, these words can be made out: "undead son of a bitch")
(The rest of the entries are in a sloppier handwriting)

25 of timber
i am stakud. Taco Dan is ded she dyed wen she fot the sasskwatch. i herd abowt it from Sythun. she was a nice laydee and she helped us but now im in chrge. i wil handel the fort like she wud want me too even tho i cant spel gud. at leest the sasskwatch is ded cuz Sythun kiled it.

Wow, guys. I wasn't expecting to die.
That was a stupid idea, sending myself in untrained with a crossbow.
I still stand by my decision and I'm not going back on it.

EDIT:
Oh yeah, before I forget, music for when I died:

Start it at 2:50 for the best effect.

While I dont have the time for a Succession game, I'd LOVE to be a Weaponsmith or Bowyer.
I hope you don't mind having carpentry too.

=Last section begins here=

4 of Moonstone
How's my spelling?
Anyway, nobody seems to be building Taco Dan's tomb, they just want to take all her clothes and put them in the goods stockpile. Why? It's bad enough that she's dead!

5th of Moonstone
More skeletons! Another skeletal sasquatch came out of nowhere, luckily no-one is injured yet, I'm starting to worry for the safety of the fortress.

13th of Moonstone
We seem to have warded off the sasquatch for now, but I'm on the lookout just in case.

24th of Moonstone
Sythun won't do any work, she says she's on break, but she has been for days now.

8th of Opal
The tomb has finally been carved out and now we just need to put in the stuff.

20th of Opal
They said we couldn't make her a tomb because she's already dead. What? So instead we just made it into a public graveyard, I hope nobody else needs to use it...
Also, we never found Dante`'s body after the sasquatch was gone... mysterious...

10th of Obsidian
I've made some more bedrooms and a place for cloth and leather, the fort is coming along nicely and we might actually survive the first year! If only Taco Dan could see it now, she'd be so happy with what I've done!

18th of Obsidian
Still hauling ice, it's pretty hard with only five dwarves.

28th of Obsidian
New years! I'm celebrating by decorating a crossbow with bone, it's not much but it's what we can do. They're holding a meeting and they've called me in, gotta go!
