What exactly is the 'Other' In the list of food and drink exactly? Im assuming it Must be something edable, as you dont seem worried you have all of three dozen plants available to eat, but I've never known what goes there...

Also, I demand myself a Forge so I may make weapons of much smiting!!!
"Other" refers to cooked meals and... possibly cheese (and flour and sugar)?  The short of it is, yes, there's food enough for the winter.
Ahh...explains that then..I've never made cooked meals so I wouldent of known that

Yea, Definatly enough food for the winter then..

Winter

3rd Moonstone
Ast Oddomotil is being quite strange. He's demanding a glass smelter to work in. It's a good think that we have sand. Two are being built right now.

7th Moonstone
He wants raw green glass and rough gems. Of course, we can't make any rough green glass since he's taking up the glass forge. I'm such a genius for building two.

14th Moonstone
Those lazy dwarves finally got around to making a piece of glass. Ast is working now.

16th Moonstone
They left the back door unlocked and a snatcher got in. Do they want someone to die again? I locked it.

18th Moonstone
He's making fun of me in so many different ways. I hate him. I hate him I hate him I hate him I hate him I hate him.

16th Opal
We finally finished engraving all the bedrooms we need. It's time to start working on the secret project and maybe work with our steel.

28th Obsidian
The secret project is somewhat complete! Due to time restraints, I had to cut some corners.

1st Granite
I'm finally done with this place! After a year of spending time with these idiots, I'm glad to retire.

About a 150% gain in wealth, and nearly increased tenfold since the beginning of the ear. No immigrants since the first season though. Good riddance. We've finally got seeds for other types of plants, and the dwarves are bringing some more. In the mean time, I'll just settle with well-cooked plump helmets.
Our military is fully trained and awaiting equipment, we just need someone to get off their ass and forge those steel bars into armor and weapons.

Here's the latest wing of bedrooms. They're all pretty average, but definitely not meager. We have more than enough with more bedroom than dwarves.

The tower is at the sixth floor, minus one wall. Which would make it something like 4 and a half stories since I've taken charge.

Lots of engraving has been done, now that Stakud is on lifetime stone detailing duty.

With that, a word to my successor:

Hey, new guy, this fortress is a shining example of productivity and beauty, thanks to me. I sincerely hope you can not fail miserably and at least keep it from melting.

We've got some cave wheat and pig tail seeds, so I expect you to plant those and not plump helmets. There's some steel bars lying around in the bar storage, so do your job and make sure someone forges them into things. First things being weapons, since our "champions" are losing against skeletal sasquatches in wrestling matches. Charcoal is a much needed resource, so make sure you trade for wood and cut trees. Since Stakud is still on stone detailing duty, you might as well make it harder for him and have him sculpt the entire fort.

We don't have much trade goods, but the elves can take some prepared food and you'll have time to prepare for humans and dwarves. Remember that humans want mugs and dwarves want bracelets.

Good luck, and may you have even a fraction of my leadership and organizational skills.

Now, I reap the benefits of my "secret project", and retreat to my new, luxurious apartment.

It's quite nice, isn't it?

Intro done.  I'll get to working on the fort after I look around it summore.

        The tale of Dante`

I Dante` have been wandering this god forsaken tundra for many a year.  After getting caught in that blizzard with that sasquatch.  I was wandering for so long.  I dont even recognize the entrance to a fortress when I see one.   But I think thats more because of the fact that.  There isnt one! Barely two doors frosted shut, No defensces or forward warning that there be dwarfs in this ice.
I push open the doors and I see.  Nothing.  Just an empty farm plot and a few more corridors of ice.  I hold a curse under my breath remembering why I first came to this patch of fuckall and I just cant believe that they didnt make it.  Safe in the mountain they should have survived while He died alone and cold.  Surviving on rabbits like a damn human.
I sink to my knees in the long untended farm, tired and cold,  The armor I crafted for myself out of ice cracks and shatters off.  Even underground in this ice prison its damn hot.
And as I sit there.  Defeated and wonderous as to how this place came into such mis-hap,  A child goes running barefoot in front of me..  Dissapearing as quick as it had come.  I simply stare off down the dark hall it came from. "What the hell?" I mutter to myself as I push up and stand, the remains of the ice armor crashing down off me.  I let out a large bellowed "Haloooooooo?" and it reverberates something fierce and the glass walls shake and groan.
The little child comes running back down the corridor. I catch it where it trys to flee and it only screams in terror.  I let it go and it goes back down the other end of the hall shouting "Ghost ghost!" at the top of its lungs.
I may be frosted white from all those years in the planes of ice but a Ghost? I think not.
I wander after the child.  Through the long maze of tunnels that seem to have no point other than to make you lose weight.  But as I get deeper into the mountain I can hear, Voices!  Lots and lots of voices.  It seems I stumble into the party.   But all goes quiet.
The child hides behind its mother muttering "Its a ghost, dont let it get me."
One of the older looking dwarves stands up and shouts. "Why has your soul come back to haunt us Dante.  Why now after all these years?"
Bewildered I simply gawk at him.  "Now listen here you dried up bag of bones.  I aint no ghost." I slam down my hammer of ice to make effect, And it shatters on the floor, scaring all those gathered. "What a damn bit of cowardece.  I find my way back from the frozen wild to find a bunch of fucking sissys.  WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" I shout, They all jump back, Like a bunch of fucking humans! "You were sent here to craft a fine dwarven dwelling but instead all you do is sit down here in your fucking maze and drink, What is this? MELTED ICE?  Your no dwarve bretheren of mine anymore."  And I turn on my heel and start to stalk back down the hall.
One of the younger dwarves manage to break free of their terror long enough to chase me down the corridor.  "No wait,  Your right we've truely gone soft and we need someone to guide us.  Please stay and help us, You seem to be the only one who rememberes the old ways."
I look down at the man and can only imagine how I seem.  Frosted beard giving off a mass of frost and mist.  "Aye son, You be a right big discrace, And I cant leave any of my kin to that.  I'll help you for one year and if things are or arent put right. I'm gone."
He kneels. HE ACUALLY KNEELS. Before me.  Uttering his thanks.
And so begins the story of Dante`s reign over this god forsaken piece of shit ice hole called,
                                    MURDERLETTER

For the next people, can we get an update on our characters at the end of the turns? Job, skills, life...

Aren't Rhesus Macaques actually whales?
They're actually a special ore. Instead of being mined, they're hunted from between the trees and instead of producing metal, they produce food: rhesus pieces.

The map would cover freaking 20 screenshots if just because of the epicly long exorsize tunnels.
