I think Moar Majic is always a good thing, and having another possible OP ally is nice. So, I would say ally with the Kingdom of Crystals as mercenaries. I WANT THAT FIRE MAGE ON MY SIDE, GODDAMMIT!!!

Enough caps. Ask the fire mage what kind of incentive he is looking for.

TURN 24! COOKIE IF YOU SPOT THE REFERENCE!

Quote from: ToonyMan
Join kingdom against fight with Lizardmen. Rename The Fugly Duckling to Fresh-Prince of Tallair.
As the discussion goes on, Elegost mentions the Fugly Duckling. Acting on a whim, you inform him you've decided to rename it to the Fresh-Prince of Tallair. He silently nods to confirm that he heard you, and goes back to the situation at hand.

When the vote is had, you say that you feel it would be best to help the Kingdom of Crystals against the Lizardmen tribes. Boozebeard wholeheartedly agrees with you; however, Khan and Elegost remain on the fence.

Quote from: RedWarrior0
Ask the fire mage what kind of incentive he is looking for.
[1] He informs you that about a hundred years ago, the same Lizardmen tribes as currently being discussed by the captains attacked the Kingdom of Crystals. The Mage's great great grandfather owned a powerful talisman that gave him magical abilities beyond the reckoning of his fellow mages. But during the afore-mentioned attack, the Lizardman chieftain snuck up and killed his ancestor, taking the talisman as a trophy. If you were to get back that talisman he may consider joining you.

Quote from: Diakron
search for loot tell bob to try and repair the mast of kilakan's ship. Also ask if bob can learn magic.
[3] As you search, seemingly in vain for any loot, you ask Bob to repair the mast of the Tallow-Gem. [4] He tells you that he is not a carpenter, and can only repair it temporarily. He gets to work, and manages to make from the scraps of shattered wood a smaller replacement mast. He warns that it will only last a week, at most, depending on the weather. However, when you ask if he can learn magic, he smiles.

"Why didn't you ask before?" [3] He gathers 3 bodies of former guardsmen, only slightly mauled by the hail of debris from the battle. He recites a strange incantation, and you watch in a mixture of pride and horror as the bodies come to life, peeling away from their flesh and skin, until 3 armored skeletons stand before you. They bow before you, and chant in slithering, rattling voices "Hail, Champion of Armok. We are yours to command."

(Gained 3 Skeletal Warrior Thralls)

Quote from: Frelock
Practice archery with Olgar.
[6] With Olgar's help, you finally seem to be getting the hang of archery. You hit all the targets with ease, and see that Olgar is smiling with pride at his work. (+1 rank in marksmanship)

Quote from: RAM
I go loot the other ship and dispose of any remaining bodies...
Before you go looting, you decide to be a dick and get rid of the remaining bodies before Bob can make skeletons of them. [5] However, karma smiles on you this day, and you find a massive chest full of gold pieces, along with much jewelery and such. [2] However, besides that there is nothing of note. (+2000 wealth, and the beginning of a new gameplay mechanic!)

Quote from: Errol
READ MY MECHANICS BOOK FOR GREAT JUSTICE
[3] You read your books, but find that you already know almost everything here, and what little you didn't know was mostly random useless trivia.

Quote from: Luke_Prowler
Practice my healing skills.
[1] Finding no one to practice on, you decide to make a test subject. You gut one of the prisoners-turned-crew, and get to work. [1] Unfortunately, you seem to have mistaken some poisoned darts with string attached for stitches. [2] The crewman gurgles, foaming at the mouth, before dying an agonizing death. You cannot help but wonder what could have gone wrong.

Quote from:  Kilakan
Get my crew to help me search the ship for left over loot and a spare mast (most ships in the past had at least one spare mast for each mast in their stores) while the begin searching I'll loot the old captain for any maps, special armor, weapons or trinkets.
As you debate with the other captains, your 9 surviving crewmen loot the ship for anything valuable. [2] Strangely, they forget where the loot is. Odd considering they used to WORK ON THE DAMNED SHIP. [5] However, the captain is holding some nice loot: A pretty golden ring with a diamond, no doubt from her husband that you killed at the smoldering wreckage that used to be Tallow-Cliff, along with [3] a nice pirate hat. Useless when you consider practicality, but at least it's pirate-y. (+500 wealth; +1 Pirate Hat)

Quote from: stonemt
train glaring while i wait for stuff to happen
You wait. You glare. [4] You manage to intimidate a few passers-by, but Ragnarok the ogre glares even better than you, it would seem. You stop before you pick a fight with the ogre that has been strangely MIA for the last few turns. Let's just say he was guarding Boozebeard.

1 Fire Mage

Environment:
With Boozebeard and ToonyManner supporting joining the Kingdom of Crystals, and Khan supporting joining the poorer Lizardmen, Elegost is left with a conundrum. [2] He thinks it over for some time, and finally says "We shall join the Kingdom of Crystals. Their king is generous, and so long as he does not learn of our involvement at Tallow-Cliff we shall be rewarded grandly."

"Then we make for the port of Udragoth!" Boozebeard exclaims. "And from there, we shall march towards the capital itself! I've been there before you know, it's a wonderful place. Elegost would've seen it too, but he just had to save his sister. The slut got raped and murdered a week later regardless."

Elegost gives Boozebeard a cold stare. "Then it is decided. Udragoth is only a day away. I suggest we and our crews get our rest; we shall need it for the march inland." He stands and leaves the table, taking a bunk and immediately falling asleep, followed shortly by Boozebeard.

Let me know if I've made any errors.

So, we're headed inland. This will be interesting for me, at least. Just note that any villages you pass through during the march to the Kingdom's capital can be recruited from, just like a port.

Second, the wealth shouldn't be worried about too greatly, but I decided to add it, because what good is a pirate without booty and plunder? When you acquire things that are useless besides their value on the market, it adds to your wealth. This wealth can be used in towns to barter for items without having to do quests. You can also sell your possessions for wealth as well, but this is not recommended; loot acquired through combat is usually better than similar loot purchased in stores. Although you can get things you otherwise couldn't this way, such as war animals.

Pirates?  On Land?!  Unthinkable!

However, if we are going to be romping about the continent, it's time for some travel rations!

Make travel rations to keep us strong during the long march.

I'll get my crew to get any and all useful supplies together and ration out food, water and bags.  I'll then give them a hardy speech about how I will lead them to fame and glory across the many lands of this world, and that we shall start our march to glory by conquering the lizard men.  I also want to wear the pirate hat.

Fine, but Udragoth is a human town, not lizardman.

Meh, non-important NPC's usually just die instead of being wounded anyways. With Elegost around, the position of medic is well taken care of. Perhaps you should pursue more butcher-like actions as an alternative?
