I shoot the enemy captain with my bow.

Good thing I only hit the ale and not something important, we may yet be able to capture their ship!

This post contains an inherently wrong assumption.

TURN ELEVEN! FARCEFACE OF STEEL!

Quote from: ToonyMan
DESTROY EVERY LAST ENEMY ON THAT SHIP RARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
[6] You charge Enemy Squad 1, in a martial trance! [6+2=6][4+2=6][5+2=6][5+2=6] You fling yourself across the plank, crashing into them like a dwarf possessed! [4+2=6][2+2=4][3+2=5][2+2=4] You find that the potion has made you an unstoppable warrior, if only you had any idea how you were doing any of this! The four pirates fall dead, headless after your onslaught cut through them.

Quote from: RedWarrior0
DESTROY EVERY LAST ENEMY ON THAT SHIP RARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
[2] You follow ToonyManner across the plank, but have no idea how to replicate his trance-like calm in battle. You decide to finish off the last two pirates before they can kill your weakened allies. [5][6] While not as elegant as ToonyManner, you hit them with greater ferocity, striking potentially fatal blows toward them! [3][4] Your first target ducks, narrowly avoiding the blow to him, but his comrade is not so lucky, as your strike continues and guts him like a fish. Attempting to prevent his innards from falling out, the pirate drops dead.

Quote from: Diakron
i'll start shooting them then...

BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!!
[4] Your battle-cry is heard, and Armok extends one of his sword-like fingers from his domain to guide your actions. [3+1=4] Unfortunately, you are not quite recovered mentally from your injuries, and you barely manage to hit an enemy archer! [2+1=3] The shot bounces off of his armor, not harming him in any noticeable manner.

Quote from: Frelock
Fire at the enemy archers.
[5][6] Your shots fire true, and make pincushions of the last two archers on the Fugly Duckling, [6][6] but only for a moment as their extremities erupt in fountains of blood! They drop dead, leaving the enemy ship almost guaranteed to die against your onslaught!

Quote from: RAM
I shoot the enemy captain with my bow.
Seeing Axle is in danger, you nock an arrow and set it loose as quickly as you can. [6] Your keen elven reflexes give you an edge with a bow, allowing you to put a shot right between the captain's eyes! [1] But you are shocked as your foe stops beating on your friend for a moment to catch the arrow, and throw it at one of your allied dwarfs adjacent to him! [2] The Dwarf blocks it, but the psychological effect is still obvious to all around.

Quote from: Errol
Freeze his face with a frost bolt, and execute a head-bonk in his bleedin' nether regions (choose one: gut or groin)! Arrr!
[3] You attempt to fire a frost bolt, but find to your dismay that you cannot cast it. Instead, you attempt the headbutt, [6] hitting him directly in the [6] groin! [2] You are shocked and slightly disturbed as he seems not to feel it. Perhaps he is a she? Or a he that is used to these forms of abuse? Either prospect is quite frightening.

AI COMBAT:

Quote from:  Allied squad 1 (3 dwarves with axes)
Finish off the last swordsman! Then attack Farceface!
[5-2=3][4-2=2] The two aiming for the last swordsmen narrowly miss, as he seems to be intent on slaying them. [6-2=4] Luckily, the last axeman finds his target directly in Farceface's gut! [5-2=3] Once again, the Captain appears to be wearing armor, outwitting you all once again.

Quote from: Allied Squad 2 (7 dwarves, 5 humans)
Guard the ship.
They stand fast, unable to fire their cannons due to the fact that a boarding party has reached the enemy ship. The 3 marksmen decide to fire at the Captain. [1-1=1][6-2=4][4-2=2] Only one makes contact, the other two shots going far wide. [2-2=1] The shot glances off the Captain's armor as if it were nothing.

Quote from: Enemy Squad 1 (1 human with a sword)
Attack Allied Squad 1!
[6] The last swordsman proves once again he is superior, as he destroys the defense of the dwarfs and catches one off guard! [2] Luckily, his ally steps in and blocks the blow, preventing any fatal attacks.

Quote from: Enemy Squad 2 (2 humans)
ATTACK!
With no archers left, the squad charges the 3 dwarfs, attempting to rout them! [5][5][1] The question arises why they did not go to board your ship, as they are clearly the most skilled troopers on the Duckling. [4][1] Only one blow manages to get through the dwarfs' armor, though. [2] However, it stops when it reaches the chain mail underneath the plate. It seems the swords just cannot pierce that much armor.

Quote from: Captain Boozebeard
FARCEFACE MUST DIE!
Boozebeard, thrilled to see his rival at hand, charges his foe in an attempt to defeat him once and for all! [3] Unfortunately, his shot glances off his foe's armor. Not really anything to do but rebalance himself and attempt another attack in a moment.

Quote from: Captain Farceface
BOOZEBEARD MUST DIE!
Seeing Boozebeard in a moment of weakness, Farceface strikes! [2] As luck would have it, he has no more luck than his counterpart, and his blade bounces off Boozebeard's armor. However, his pistol is drawn and at the ready! [3] Boozebeard uses the handle of his axe to deflect Farceface's arm, and the shot goes wide, hitting the side of the Ozymandias.

Quote from: Ragnarok
SMASH!
Ragnarok, now free to attack, charges and attempts to destroy the 3 remaining soldiers on the attack. [6][6][1] He catches 2 directly in the midsection with his massive forearm, [5+2=6][2+2=4] Crushing both their spines and sending them hurtling off the ship! Only two foes remain, destroy them and the battle is won!

I'll show you an error. Not all the enemies are dead yet. Why aren't they dead yet?

Coincidentally, I just want to clear something up-- Farceface is not a boss. He is no stronger than an average soldier, he just keeps getting VERY good rolls. I'm amazed that none of you--not even Boozebeard have killed him yet, as he's not even that good of a foe. If this is what a regular soldier does, I think I'll hold off on wizards for a while.

EDIT: This is my first RTD, and I feel uncomfortable as I debate whether or not my updates are OK. If something seems off, or could be better, feel free to speak up.

Farceface should get +2 rolls if he uses his face in anyway.

Only if he looks like he uses his face but actually doesn't should he get a +2

"You are clearly mistaken! I am not one to abandon a task due simply to some misfortune!" I take careful aim at Captain Farceface, only to see that everyone else is doing the same thing and decide that it isn't cool anymore so instead I shoot at the last swordsman's legs. Who knows, he might be valuable...

Captain Farceface shouts to his last two men, the Stumpy First Mate and the Swordsman, "Whatever ya do, boys, don't surrender and defect if I die!" *HINT HINT I-WILL-NOT-LET-YOU-PASS-UP-ANOTHER-SIDEQUEST HINT*

Oooooh, good point, they probably rigged their crew to explode! I'll kill the first mate and then fire a few extra arrows into all the corpses to be certain their dead. In fact, we should probably back off a bit and fireball the ship a few times just to be sure...

Awwww, these are the first fresh supplies we have gotten since we left port, Armok doesn't need all of them...

I quickly load up a special bolt, with a bit of my disastrous meal on it, and fire it directly into Farceface's open mouth!  If I can't get a bit of my poison, I'll just shoot him in the mouth with an armor-piercing bolt!
