TURN FIVE:EXPOSITIONUS MAXIMUS!
Attempt to win over the Captain after getting to the counsel.
[6][1] As you talk with the captain after heading to his cabin for counsel, you attempt to charm him and gain his friendship. However, you fumble with your words, and make it appear as if you want to be more than just friends. Captain Boozebeard now fears you in a way no mortal should be feared.
I climb down the rigging and report for counsel.
Considering you had never succeeding in climbing the rigging to begin with, climbing down is fairly easy. You report for counsel.
Run down (and over any unfortunate pirates that are in my way, excluding Boozebeard of course), and report for counsel.
[6] You mow down several guards as you pass them. One of their steel helmets flips in the air and lands on your skull. By the pirate's code, it's yours now.
Eh, be boring and report.
You make it, this time no prostitutes impede your progress
Report for counsel
You report.
report for counsel, but practice sneaking whilst going
[2] As you crouch, and silently move down the hallway, you are called to by the ship's invalid, Urist McDeafBlind. He asks if you would mind not drawing so much attention to yourself. You make it to the counsel with no physical damage, but a hurt pride.
Characters:From the Mountainhomes of The Crescent of Dawning, Urist has enjoyed a priveliged life, but always wanted to go on an adventure. So, he decided to learn about being on a boat. He was offered a job, and accepted, not realizing who exactly his employer was.
Has taken as a child by Kobolds and traded to humans, who forced into slavery on a privateer. He has no idea of his Dwarf name but uses Silverlash (a name from an older dwarf that tuaght him English [or whatever we speak on this world]) now that he is free. Is very fierce and is almost too human-like to be around dwarfs.
Steel Battle Axe; mysterious liquid
Proficient Cook/Brewer; Dabbling Magic
A cook who has traveled the world searching for new exotic dishes and spices. He keeps a chest full of the rarest and most exquisite spices he finds on his journeys, and intends to one day make, as he calls it, "my Feast," the culmination of all his skill and knowledge, with the use of all his precious spice possessions.
She was sold into slavery to pay off her gambling debts, but the ship she was being taken to her buyer on was destroyed by pirates. After being washed ashore she realised that there was nothing left of her old life and she was better off letting the world think that she was dead. With no place in civilised society she has signed up with a pirate crew and never looked back.
She doesn't gamble any more but has a habit of leaving playing cards that explode.
Dabbling Mechanic; Novice Ambusher
Exiled by his own race for being a little nuts, he has taken to become pirate. Has an unhealthy obsession with machinery and technology of all sorts. His ability to actually use two pistols at the same time effectively makes him a valuable asset in each team, as one glance at him tends to make the opponents wish they would have brought their brown pants.
Two flintlock pistols, steel helmet
Enemies:Well, you ran from the prostitutes, so that's one sidequest down the drain... Oh well, off to sea then!
Environment:As you all arrive, Captain Boozebeard begins a speech.
"I have hired you all to serve as guards aboard my ship, because my current supply was less than ideal. I shall need your assistance in my endeavors, for you see, I was born a wee lad back in the mountainhomes on the mainland. But I grew tired of that life. All I ever wanted, was to be king of the sea! And with yer help, that dream'll be within reach at last! However, I'll admit, I have little knowledge of th' piratin' way, so you six will also be my advisers, and shall give me counsel on the most important matters of the ship. The first such matter shall be, where do we go?"
Boozebeard pulls out a large map and lays it out on a table in the room for all to see. It shows your location in the middle, on Lavabunch island. The Captain gives you several options for the journey:
*Search for a privateering job among one of the many nations seeking to control the sea: a boring but potentially rewarding job.
*Plunder the Elven routes to the northwest: Little in the way of weapons, but carries trained animals and booze; guarded by the best mages and archers in the world.
*Plunder the Human routes to the south: The Humans are generally very greedy, and guard their ships well; however, they generally have very good loot.
*Plunder the goblin routes to the east: Suicidal, essentially. Each goblin ship is a mini-city, the size of an Obsidian Tower, but capable of floating through their magic. Each ship is captained by a demon, and guarded by many Goblin High Shamans, and tough Goblin Marines. However, they generally have the best loot, if you're capable of taking the ship.
*Search the Ratskin peninsula far to the north: Generally regarded as a ship graveyard, none who go there ever return. Some tall tales tell of great Junk ships full of semi-human abominations stalking the area, killing all who approach. Never before explored, with potential for great treasure. Also the most potentially dangerous option.
Locations:A small, sorry-looking sloop, carrying a dozen cannons and is painted white with a green trim. Possibly the ugliest thing you've ever seen float besides its previous incarnation, the Mad Hatter.
*Blackjack Blue
*Edward "Silverlash" Teach
*ToonyManner
*Urist McPirate
*Axle "Two Holes" Gear
*Fre "Cookie" Blackflag
*Unknown crew members
*Captain Boozebeard
Let me know if I made any erros.
NOTE: There are, in fact, other races than the ones I've described, but I'm keeping them hidden for now.
