I think being able to Catapult Live creatures or even dead ones WOULD be a nice feature...god knows it's been used in reality as a way to spread disease..and I cant help but think ONE poor sap MUST of got brained by a flying dead man..

At the moment the best you could do with this would be a bunch of ballistas, fortifications in front of them, and a 1-tile space between them and another row of fortification's.

Siege comes, pit some animals from above to roam the 1-tile space, fire ballista's.

Animals and animal parts are expected to go flying. It won't really do anything but look amusing though, except if some of the animal's hits a wrestler or something but that probably won't kill them.

The ballista arrows might though.

And about those boozexplosion traps. I see people saying that they don't work, and other's saying they do work, then I saw someone saying that they will go and try it if boozexplosions do harm or not.

Did that ever go anywhere?

Because exploding alcohol traps would be amusing.

You can make the waterslide trap; I've seen similar things before. However, the goblins are not really sliding down the ramps but are instead being pushed by the water pressure.

Hey, if it works, it works.

I just thought of something. If I could build up water pressure enough in a tunnel, could I make a "geyser trap" that uses water to shoot goblins into the air?

You can mod DF, but only up to a point, people.
Says you....

In your dreams :D. Most stuff in DF is hardcoded.
Hard Coding ruins all my dreams...

no. Not at all. You just end up building a pyramid of water.

Well... you can always bridgeapult.
Well, yes, but Bridgeapult only works with creatures. Items will be destroyed or they stay on the ground, I'm not entirely sure.
Bridgeapulting creatures (or rather: the landing) only hurts the creature that got bridgeapulted and only if it lands on the ground. If it lands on another creature, both of them remain unharmed.
Edit: Someone should try bridgeapulting your champion on top of a goblin siege.
Gobbo1: It's a bird!
Gobbo2: It's a plane!
Gobbo3: No, it's a dwarven champi... *death* *flying bodyparts* *gore*
Urist McChampion: That's all, folks!
I have actually been able to bridgeapult some items. In effort to execute some invaders I bridgeapulted some cages full of them. Unfortunately, they were unharmed after a 10z fall. Grr...

But items were unharmed.

Pit them into the bridgeapult? Might work.

Water slide works fine because creatures will try to avoid the side the water is coming from due to dangerous terrain.

I once dropped a goblin captive off a ~15 Z-level execution tower and by pure bad luck, he landed on my woodcutter. Normally, this fall causes goblins to blow apart, but since he collided with another creature, they were both just stunned. :o Fortunately, my woodcutter recovered first, and got some valuable combat experience.

You could try to take advantage of this effect, by making a kitten pit with a retractable floor over your entryway. Mass stunning, and a swarm of decoys. I can't think of a more amusing trap.

If 10 goblins drop on a kitten pit with 40 cats, there are still 30 unstunned cats. And 30 cat mouths can do quite some damage to stunned goblins.
That is an amusing trap! ;D

You could make it more efficient, but less hilarious by pitting every unwanted, unneeded animal in it. Oxen and horses are quite powerful. Even moreso when the enemy doesn't fight back.

I can. Put a bunch of spike traps in the pit, then have a pressure plate (that is activated by goblins) also in the pit, so when a goblin drops in, the spike traps activate, and you get a bunch of Fun.

This is a fine Goblin Shishkebab. Its ingredients are skewered Kitten, finely skewered Kitten, and finely skewered Goblin.

It may not be Looney Tunes but I'm always in pursuit of a way to dismember my prisoners without killing them. I've tried putting recruits in and then unrecruiting them once they have hacked off an arm but they often will just finish the gobbo off anyways. Meanwhile, weapon traps are good at chopping of arms but they won't stop until the gobbo is dead and blocking the trap. Anyone got a method/trap for removing arms and legs but leaving the rest of the goblins in one piece?

You'd have better luck modifying a ranged weapon to fire anvils, and loading it into a weapon trap.
I vote for this Option..Preferibly a Catapult

You could also make a Ballista that fire's live Coyotes, or other animal's of your choice.
Catapults and ballistae are hardcoded, but as far as I know you can mod ranged weapons like bows and stuff. However, I have no idea if it would work.

You can shoot cows and horses out of catapults!
Just make a new type of rock, called diseased cows and diseased horses (or just cows and horses).

One of the toads decided to go for a swim in the moat - presumably because he could path through the moat to my dwarves. He is not charging in, just loitering in the moat.

The toad is having a nice relaxing swim.
The goblin mounted on his back, however, is drowning.

Just thinking here, not actually tried this but:
Mod a spear so that it does slashing damage, like an ax. Build your new upright ax traps, and lever activate until goblin is just right. Bake in oven at 400 for 15 minutes or until a light golden brown.
