It would appear so.

Finish it quickly! Or it may bring great misfortune upon you!

Working on finding version of DF compatible with save.

EDIT: Found one.  I'll have to look over the fortress for a bit, but I'll see what I can get done.  Anything you guys specifically want?

No update yet.  Just know that we have a new artifact and some goblin issues.  Also, elves aren't very good maniacal killers.

Spring of 205

1st Granite, 205

I've arrived.  Fancier place than I thought it would be.  This babbling Bomrek Rigothbungek fellow is a bit annoying, though.  AND WHY IS THERE A MANIAC RUNNING AROUND WITH NO PANTS ON!?!  I hate the nobility.  Especially the pantsless one.

3rd Granite, 205

Our resident babbling maniac stopped babbling to show us all this nice little thing he made.  Fangchucked the blahblahblahblahblah...

5th Granite, 205

Construction of a new bedroom for me has started.  Best spot possible: right next to the dining room.  Food and sleep in one handy little area.

10th Granite, 205

Elves.  Must.  Die.

14th Granite, 205

Bedroom finished.  Elves still hanging around.  Considering sending trader.

26th Granite, 205

Sent trader.  Remembered our right to seize suspicious goods. Then noticed how little they had for us to steal...er...seize.

6th Slate, 205

My attempt to get rid of an unwanted peasant didn't work as I expected.  The guy caught a goblin ambush.  Two, actually.  The elves are dead, and goblins are outside our walls.  Said peasant is still alive.  Due to this incident, I have drafted a few peasants.

12th Slate, 205

Goblins have retreated after the loss of some fool who ran into our traps.

21st Slate, 205

OH SHIT.  Immigrants.  Hammerer.  TAXES.  A baron and his consort.  Well, at least we now have a few new guards.

7th Felsite, 205

The tax collector doesn't want us to sell flutes, for some reason.

14th Felsite, 205

Sometimes I hate fish.  That tends to be when I am near the water and they decide to try to kill me.  Sometimes I love fish.  Like right now.  Our good tax collector is dead.  Gone.  Killed.  Turns out I left some immigrants outside the walls.

21st Felsite, 205

We have a nice new surprise for any invaders.  Between the columns by the road into our fortress, a set of traps is being placed.  Should be useful.

22nd Felsite, 205

New champion among us.  Woo.  Also, the baron wants wolf leather stuff to be made.

Player's notes: Lets see...I managed to stop a goblin ambush with no casualties on my side, accidentally kill a few immigrants, including a noble, and mint a lot of coins.  Pretty good for three months.  Worst immigrant wave ever, though.  I drafted some, and turned most of the rest into guards.  Let a couple stay as normal citizens, but they actually had some use, with my trap project.

Summer of 205

1st Hematite, 205

I requested the creation of some bone bolts, and I get sharp works of art.  Also, WHY IS THE RUM...er...WINE GONE!?!

9th Hematite, 205

Human traders.  Hope they have some sort of alcoholic beverages...No booze.  Damn.  Bought everything they had.

17th Hematite, 205

We are under attack.  The goblins are here, and they really aren't doing much.

19th Hematite, 205

Humans dealt with the goblins.  My hatred of the economy grows.

21st Hematite, 205

An injured guard suddenly decided to do something awesome and weird, and took some logs.  Just some logs.

5th Malachite, 205

The guard from my previous entry made an amazingly flimsy wooden amulet.

10th Malachite, 205

Trap project completed.  We now have a much more secure fortress.

16th Malachite, 205

We have a whole lot of champions in the guard force.

23rd Malachite, 205

We are now celebrating the fact that migrants were too scared to come over here.  The fish did well.

26th Malachite, 205

Some ex-taskmaster's wife gave birth.

28th Malachite, 205

Our traps have become a source of food, as assorted animals foolishly wandered into them.

6th Galena, 205

I'm getting tired of all these champions popping up everywhere.

19th Galena, 205

We have drinks again.

Uneventful season.  The previous player avatars, as well as mine, were all evicted.  Turns out only nobles and legendary people are immune to eviction.

RETURN OF THE AUTUMN!

From our great overlord's journal

6th Limestone, 205

Our coin supply is low, but should work for now.

13th Limestone, 205

Dwarven caravan here.  Also, the liason saw a kobold and ran away in terror, only

to be caught by a whole ambush squad.  This is the best our leaders could send!?!

17th Limestone, 205

I feel this strange urge to farm.

25th Limestone, 205

Decided to buy some metal and cheese and metal cheese.

1st Sandstone, 205

Expanding fortress defence project.  Traps now protect some more important

entrances.  Also, migrants fear the fish.

10th Sandstone, 205

Baby was born today.

14th Sandstone, 205

We executed the goblin prisoner today.

17th Sandstone, 205

Dwarven caravan has left.

23rd Sandstone, 205

Recruited new crossbowdwarf from the ranks of the useless.

3rd Timber, 205

Just when I thought it was over, we got another champion.

7th Timber, 205

When digging out some space for new bedrooms, we discovered some more copper.

10th Timber, 205

Beginning construction of secondary bridge as a purely protective measure.

15th Timber, 205

Bridge finished, actually being a crushing platform.  Not to be used to kill

people, except for goblins, kobolds, and nobles.

26th Timber, 205

Soldier gave birth.  Yay.

30th Timber, 205

Our current overall status:

Winter of 206
From the same journal as usual

1st Moonstone, 205

Removing crushing bridge.  Doesn't crush enough.  Replacimg with spikes on road.  Elves shall soon fear us.

6th Moonstone, 205

Baron wants turtle shell stuff, so I ordered the creation of some turtle shell leggings.

10th Moonstone, 205

Deathtrap making good progress.

18th Moonstone, 205

Noticed large amount of narrow armor in the fort.  Needs melting.  Every bit of it.

25th Moonstone, 205

I've rented the deceased tax collector's bed.

26th Moonstone, 205

Would you believe that we have no mandates at the moment?

6th Opal, 205

Replacing most armor with iron armor.  We were using far too much copper before.

11th Opal, 205

Spike trap complete.

12th Opal, 205

I just heard that one of our military champions died.  Sparring accident. A truly horrible way to lose a good soldier.  So I found a guy who did absolutely nothing and recruited him. The name of the recruit is Dante.

20th Opal, 205

The baroness consort just gave birth, even though she and the baron don't sleep together.  Who is the father?

22nd Opal, 205

Olin Inethinod seems to believe his name is Endok Oboklerom, a name that corresponds to a dead soldier.  This can't be good.

23rd Opal, 205

Olin/Endok has claimed a craftsdwarf's workshop.  Perhaps this will be useful.  But how is...ghosts.  He wants rough gems, which we lack.

27th Opal, 205

While searching for gems, we found a vein of aluminum.

7th Obsidian

WHERE ARE THOSE GEMS!?!

17th Obsidian

Found more aluminum.

26th Obsidian

Still no gems.  Running out of time.

1st Granite

DAMN YOU ENDOK OBOKLEROM!

Things I managed to do:
*More than double the size of the military
*Fill both guard forces
*Improve farming by adding two new plots on muddy ground, one underground and one above ground.
*Set up a large defense network of traps.
*Set up an awesome elf-killing spike trap.  For trading.
*Start our economic mess by minting some coins and building some shops.

Someone in the succession needs to make a megaproject of epic proportions. I suggest using magma, as any good dwarf would.  ;D

I believe that is me then. I'll have to start tomorrow, I'm not anywhere near my DF Compy, and can't get to it till tomorrow.

For a mega project, how about a magma rain maker for the main road? I don't think I'd be able to build it in a year. But hey, never try, never know.

I'm still here.  Just saying.

I'll just focus on defense and expanding our "controlled" area by digging moat and wall extensions.
