Because I don't want to hijack his thread for this, I'm creating a new thread for my own Civilization 4: Beyond the Sword Let's Play.

You choose my settings, from this list. A_Fey_Dwarf has a special position here, and I may heed his suggestions over yours.

Erm... I have a special position? Well... My LP was more to get into CivIV (and lose horribly), I had only played four or five games of it previously, completing only one of them.
My suggestions, Go Monarch difficulty, Archipelago, Vikings, Epic speed, Cold temperature, low sea level, Aggressive AI On(I didn't even know about this feature), Leave always wars off.

No worries, I'm doing this to teach people a bit too. I was playing a game with Pandars settings the last hour, and even when playing a duel map with Gandhi as opponent, I gave up, as I couldn't get through his defense of waves and waves of archers.

Anyway, I'll be starting this tomorrow or so, so please get me some more nice suggestions. I may use them for other games or somesuch.

Aggressive AI is one checkbox in the 'Custom Game' option. There's a giant lot of neat stuff there.

So. Here's a short rundown what happened, I took plenty of screenshots so it will be fleshed out at one point.

We're in the year 415 AD. I have founded a total of five citys and so far waged one war against Roosevelt. I razed an outpost but failed to capture a larger city, using forces that amount to four horse archers (fell without exception), I am now preparing for assault #2. My biggest problem is that I have zero metals, and therefore need to use catapults and horse archers, severly limiting my possibilities. Roosey has two sources of copper so I will attack more often.

I have researched a variety of technologies, including Machinery, and am now researching Civil Service for the Berzerkers, so that I finally am able to steamroll somebody. I have one wonder, the Great Lighthouse. (Built myself. Accounts for perhaps 1/3 of my commerce, so I'm okay with having built it.) Domestically, I am lacking production (unsurprisingly, this being archipelago), and I really should develop my cities better. Otherwise, OK so far. You are able to crack out the whip after all. *evil*

I've got two pathes to choose from, now... Either I go all economical and wait 'till Rifling, or I try to wage war on Roosevelt a second time, capture Copper, acquire Berzerks and go on a world-wide rampage. What plan would you choose...?

Bad news - I patched my game and it broke the savestate. However, I think I am going to restart this with the Fall from Heaven 2 modification. (With a minor modmod improving AI and stuff) You will get to choose my civ, again, but nothing else:

Bannor: Crusaders for all that's lawful and good. Fairly vanilla.
Khazad: Yer bog standard dwarves. Bad at magic but good tech and production.
Lanun: Pirates. (Yarr!) Kings of the sea.
Balseraph: The evil, insane carnival.
Doviello: Feral people from the far far north. Good rushers, bad techers.
Sheaim: Bringers of armageddon, good mages.
Random: Well, duh.

Also what mapgen are you using?
It had better be the good one of which I can't remember the name but it contains a letter twice I know that much!
Why can't we chose the leader? Depending on your choice you can have completely different civs (in FFH2, anyway)
Also, mad rush for the evil religion. Screw being good. HAIL ARMOK, EVEN THOUGH IT'S MORE LIKE, HAIL A BUNCH OF DEMONS WHO GIVE US POWER.
The evil religion is funny.
I had a game of continents where I and my continent-mates researched all but the evil religion first. When I finally sent an invasion force to the other continent, the bannor had summoned hybereum (or whatever his name is). The entire continent was all hell terrain, apart from the far north (where I started my invasion)
It was fun to have to cast spring to get to every city in a desert. Really made my mages who had previously only provided sailing power feel good.
