theres a dragon that spawned at my fortress but its friendly however its destroying my doors whats going on

Hmm, friendly means it could be the ruler of a civilization that your civ is friendly with, and it just happened to show up(I had a game where this happened on 2-3 separate occasions), and the reason it's destroying your doors is thanks to the behavior of the BUILDINGDESTROYER tag, if you go into the raws and remove that tag from the dragons, he won't do it anymore.

yea it has the ruler tag on it is it gona leave though? cause its just sittin in my base or is it possible for me to tame it?

It's there until it dies, since it came as a mega-beast, but is friendly.
Good(or bad) news is, the dragon/ruler WILL fight with any enemy civs, and will also run towards any screen-moving announcement you get(HFS, sieges, ambushes, traders, etc.)

so would it eventually starve to death or something or should i just go ahead and remove the building destroyer tag now?

I don't think it will become hungry or thirsty, as long as it isn't in your civ, but don't quote me on that, my experiences really did a number on my brain, every single megabeast that showed up was a ruler!
But yeah, I would remove the tag, and if it starts getting hungry or thirsty and you want to keep it, you can add NOTHIRST and all that jazz.

You can just remove the brackets around it, which should deactivate the tag.

or if you don't want to mod aim some siege weapons on the son of a b*** and fire away.

A siege would be bad.

!!Goblins!! might turn into !!Fortress!!

Also, there's no telling what hell that dragon's fire might wreak.

would a hostile dragon attack goblins and stuff or would they only go for dwarfs

Uh, I'm pretty sure that you can't get sieges while you have a megabeast on hand, but don't quote me on that.
I know I got sieges while I had friendly megabeasts though... maybe since they're friendly the game calls off the whole megabeast thing?

Read the wiki, "building destroyer" (or "buildingdestroyer)".  Find enlightenment.
