Okay, here is what you need to do:

Open a particularily long and interesting article.

LET YOURSELF OPEN ONE TAB OR WINDOW FROM ONE OF THE LINKS ON THE PAGE. Pick an interesting one.

If it works, you will find at least one interesting link on that page. Keep going until you cannot find an interesting link. If you cannot, pick a longer or more interesting page.

If it doesn't, you either know too much, and we must kill you(With magma!), or you are too dull to live.

Having something better to do instead helps.

Am I the only one that finds it REALLY FRICKIN' ANNOYING when a page links back on itself? Like, hey, here's a link, THAT LEADS TO THE EXACT SAME PAGE! What were they thinking?!

I did what I had to do for science!
Ye gods, what have I done, it seemed like such a good idea at the time.

TVtropes I can handle. It's Lets Plays that get me every time.

Goddam you Something Awful Archives, Freelance Astroanuts, Chip Cheezum, Deceased Crab and all the other Lets Players I have yet to be sucked into!

I don't have this problem either. I do open a few more pages if I click on a tvtropes link, but I can stop if I want to.

I don't get how you can not have that problem, if I go on I'll see an interesting link so I open it in a new tab and then keep reading the current article, repeating for any other interesting ones, then you close the first tab and repeat for the next open tab. Doesn't take long for me to have several dozen open tabs.

I do have a tendency to go on long TVTropes or Wikipedia knowledge binges but only because I was bored to start, I'd never stop working for it. Except in one subject at school, ICT. In that subject about 10 classmates and I would "wiki-race". We would start on one article on wikipedia and see who could reach the destination article first, just by using hyperlinks and none of the disambiguations or index lists. Don't judge, we're not all losers, it was both a really boring class (due to pointless tedium) and a surprisingly fun game.

A good variant of this is having Wikipedia find you a random article and then trying to get to Adolf Hitler's page in as little clicks as possible.

I suppose it can be easy at times considering WWII was a major event.
