Shopkeepers in NetHack are pretty intense.

Speaking of which, is there Armok worship in the game? Because I've never seen Armok worshippers, which is fairly ironic considering the name of the game.

...

Wait, that shopkeeper... he is Armok!

Perhaps the implication is that the player in fortress mode is Armok?

That's silly. For that to be true, then the player would have to be a genocidal maniac only intent on fulfilling his own ends, someone who discards lives like they were toilet paper, someone who would think nothing of killing a hundred dwarves just so they could get that new magma fountain in place. We're talking about the kind of person who would command the wholesale slaughter of newborn kittens, who would attack another race just because they have a different way of doing things.....

Waaaaaaaaaaait a minute.

You have a point.  ;D

The only thing better then that shop keeper is my hammer lord Urist (no joke that actually is his name) that has 400 elf kills and 6 arrows stuck in his head.  He doesn't pull em out cause I think he forgot they were there because of all the head damage (though no brain damage) He is however missing his right eye. and his left thumb.....

He doesn't quite have the omnipotence required for it, does he?  I mean, what kind of god of blood are you if you die when you lose just a few pints of it?

A god that has no need for a permanent mortal existence. Basically, a mortal shell is a device one such god would require to cause havok and draw more blood from a stone called Earth.

That, or he could be a very bored omnipotent individual... I mean, he can be reborn as a chick, and take advantage of it for the hell of it. Be reborn as an elf and cause traitorous wars amongst his (their) own kind. Be human and make vast metropolii so that dwarves can leech off their land, assimilate it, and rebuild it; bigger, harder, dwarfier. Then, be reborn as a dwarf and revel in his own glorious end result.

If Armok is willing, he can make anything pop by severing on breaks with extreme internal temperatures. Cats are usually fun targets to do this on.

I beg to differ; he's rather omnipotent; he just doesn't want to spend too much time as anything other than dwarf. Especially if it's elven.

Sorry, guys, I got my very first fortress with a Dwarven Economy and also my very first with magma... also have about 10 windmills hooked up to power 1 millstone.  I don't know why.

ANYWAY!  If there's an easier way to do this, please tell me, I wrote it up by hand.  No names but the shopkeeper's and her husband.
