Females, fortresses and doors
« on: August 10, 2009, 11:21:13 am »

Anyone got tales of the interesting things that your dwarves like? I occasional find a dwarf that likes fortresses and doors, so I think that they must be the happiest dwarves in existence. Their entire life is just one great big WOOHOO. Now I find a dwarf that likes females. What, all of them? That puts his goblin wrestling into a rather different context if you think about it, and he must really like harpies...

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

I'm talking about the bronze colossus. It's supposed to be made entirely of bronze.
But really he's just a softie inside. They all are really. When megabeasts come to your fort you never welcome them inside and give them a hug, do you. You heartless bastards...

Where else but DF forums do you find geology nerd jokes? I love this game.

I prefer granite cleavage myself, makes for good rock climbing.

I think you guys have been modding.

I pretty sure dwarves only like materials and things that are in the raws.

I'm pretty sure that they can reference the same things gods and some engravings can when it comes to likes, it's just moderately rare.

EDIT: Yeah, you can even see in Toady's personality/looks test the other day, one of the Dwarves like abstracts.  Number 15 likes waves.

I'm pretty sure the DM likes leather cloaks, whips and tentacle demons for their perverse intentions.

I like the cleavage on mica. It's perfect.

I got a dwarf that likes thongs, whips, and tentacle demons for their corrupt intentions.
Serious.

No, really.

I think he's got you beat.

Doors and fortresses are in the raws, so they can like them. I've never encountered a dwarf who likes females, but probably I just didn't notice it yet.

Hmm. on a similar note to the odd things just noticed, I realised that loads of my potential military groups have awesome names. The Fleshy Trades and the Merchants of Slapping are my favourites :D I feel kinda sorry for the Single Rooms, it makes me think of a load of single dwarves looking for love.
