We're on a Pangaea. What other lands are there?

Dwarfs? On boats? BLASPHEMY. But I do agree, we need to find new lands.

EDIT: We'll circle the globe!

One day, we shall all look back on this, and laugh. Sorry about the face, by the way, and the legs, and the eyes, and the arms. In fact, sorry 'bout the whole body.

Well, if we send boats out to the other shores of the land and put some settlers there, it would allow us to be able to attack others from different fronts while also giving us more opportunities for land.  Also, I just want to see some sea combat for some reason.

And so Old Beard Halls became a city...

First order of business, build a work boat so we can harvest those clams when the city borders expand. Which they should do quite rapidly now that I have moved in a Buddhist monk to help with expansion. Back in Bay12, I have ordered the building of an archer. We better stay defended now that the warrior has moved on with the settler to the new more vulnerable city.

The Archer is finished pretty quickly with the help of those hard working tree choppers. Next up is a barracks. Research has also been completed in pottery so we can hopefully get some cottages built, I have directed the elders to look into priesthood for now and then sailing.

This Willem has sent warriors to the borders of our territory. I don't like them sitting there. Watching us...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Preisthood has lead to the possibilty of building the Oracle world wonder. However they tell me this will take over 150 turns... We will never finish it at that rate. Hmm, perhaps we need the worker to chop down more forests...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Was greeted by this fellow who calls himself Bismark, he seems to see me as inferior. How could he when I am Urist II? I should be worshiped as god like my people do. But no I'm treated like the leader of some sort of backwards civilization. Ahh well peace for now... He is right about one thing, this Bismark probably possesses a much larger army then I.

Again... What's with all the random people visiting us?
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
This one is fallen under the conspiracy known as Hinduism... He must have allied with those damn dirty Dutch. He is offering open borders and I feel obliged to accept as this is probably the only way to spread Buddhism and Judaism to his lands.
This day just keeps getting worse.

Wow, that was weird, I just had Louis XIV and Cyrus follow Suryavarman's example and ask for open borders agreement. This rises my hopes of being successful in the world. I am now free to send my missionaries to his cities to help rake in the gold.

Haha, even that child lover Willem wants open borders with me. No way in hell am i giving it to him. He probably just wants to come here to steal all our beautiful slave children. I have instead made an agreement with Louis to trade some technologies. I gave him monotheism and he gave me animal husbandry. Now to research Code of laws and hopefully pick up even more religions. The Elders have informed me this is a very likely technology to give me religion.

Oh Shiiiiiiiiii....
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Where did these guys come from? Bloody barbarians appearing out of no where. Though they seem to be wondering away from us towards the french.

Mother Fuuuu....
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
My religions, My religions! No Not my religions...

Oh noes! Blocked in.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Finally some good news, Bismark has adopted Judaism and the french have adopted Buddhism. It is however a bit late for me now, I'm afraid our little civilization will stay exactly that. Little.

Oh, my Oracle! How dare someone else finish theirs before I could mine!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

(OOC:I'm sure already I have lost this game. I have two cities, all other civs have much more... Should I keep on going or give in?)

Gah, that's it, I played a couple more turns and have discovered I have completely failed. I have no idea what I did wrong, maybe I was just folowing the wrong research pathways and building the wrong things.

I think you were going a little to much into the mystic(?) type of research, causing us to fall back in the other types.  Are you sure you can't build a boat and settler while sending them out for new land that wasn't taken yet?  You could also try setting it one difficulty lower if you want, probably will make it easier for us.

Yeah Warlord difficult would probably be much more fun. The AI attack much more often but aren't as good at the whole researching and developing stuff. I have tried to get across the ocean but well the transport carriers of this age can't cross oceans, so that doesn't work out so well.

Okay a third and final time. This time the map is larger, is continental and the difficulty is at warlord.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Turn 0, 4000BC:
We dwarves emerge from our mountain homes to find this weird place covered in things called trees. The flat area around us looks like it will easily grow food on and sustain a city, so here is a good a place as any...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I sent the scout to go look into the tribal village just north of him. There he found a bunch of peoples willing to join our dwarven empire, they tell me they will settle a city nearby and be completely under my control. Hmmm, I'm already liking this above ground world.

(OOC: Yes that's right I got a second settler turn 0, How awesome is that?)

Turn 1, 3960BC:
The settler discovered at the tribal village has moved a little to the south to found a city. This city shall be called Old Beard Halls...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Work has started there on the Stonehenge world wonder, with it we can put to practice the great rituals our elders have taught us. Many around the world will come to old beard halls to see the Stonehenge and marvel at it's mysteries. The only problem with this plan is that we risk someone else building Stonehenge first and ruining our production of the wonder.
The other settler has moved north to see if we can locate another area not to close to Old Beard Halls to settle down in.

Turn 2, 3920 BC:
Our elders have started research on Polytheism, apparently this research will lead to great bounties of gold if we can found a religion. Though I have my doubts...

Turn 6, 3760 BC:
Our settlers from the mountain homes have finally come upon a suitable area if a little devoid of forestry. So they founded Bay Twelve...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Work has begun on a warrior to help defend against any who wish to take what is not theirs.

Turn 9, 3640 BC:
Our scout was attacked by pride of lions, but he defended well and came out victorious. In other news whispers of a religion known as Buddhism have reached our cities. What this Buddhism does or is we can not figure out...

Turn 11, 3560 BC:
The research into polytheism was very successful and we came out founding Hinduism.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
This Hinduism will be very useful if we can control it as it seems quite popular with our people. If it is popular elsewhere we can gain much culture and more importantly, coinage.

Turn 17, 3320 BC:
Our research into agriculture has allowed us to build farms and harvest food from the land. This would be helpful if we actually had someone to build the farms. We don't yet have any skilled workers.

Turn 21, 3160 BC:
The warrior is finished at Bay Twelve and we are now working on a settler to build a third city.

Turn 22, 3120 BC:
Our scout has discovered another leader out in the wilderness trying to make a name for himself.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Hopefully we can spread to this Mansa Musa the word of Hinduism, and gain his Malinese Empire's trust and funds.

Turn 23, 3080 BC:
The research into Masonry was finished and we have now started on Monotheism. The elders tell me this will also offer a religion to those who are the first to complete it. In other news our scouts have come across a group of panthers and made short work out of them gaining enough experience to gain a level.

Turn 26, 2960 BC: Our scouts found a group of American warriors in the jungle and we have sent word of peace to their leader Lincoln.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I don't know what to think of these Americans... Only time will tell whether we go to war or become good partners with them.

Turn 31, Great news our Stonehenge was finished we now receive a free monument in every city.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
It also increases our wealth of knowledge in religion which hopefully leads to the spawning of great prophets to help expand our Hinduism and any future religions. Work now begins on a worker to help improve our lands.

Lincoln looks annoyed in that picture.  I say that when our cities are big enough to defend themselves and our religion gets far enough, we build priests and send them to every one of our enemy's cities until they can't help but bow down before the dwarves.

Turn 32, 2720 BC:
The research into monotheism paid off, we have founded Judaism in Bay12. With monotheism we can organize religion which will be done as soon as possible.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Though for now I will slow down with my research into the mystics, we need to get more basics down before rushing ahead. And by basics, I mean war technology!

Turn 38, 2480 BC:
The settler is finished and I am now looking for a place to let him build his city. If my minoins wished to help in naming the city and where it resides, I will be most grateful.
An overall view-
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Help me choose, 1 2 or 3? Or maybe I should take my chances and explore to the west a bit to see what I can find there.

I say we build on one to make sure the Americans don't get the gold first.  But three would be good to since we would be able to build things faster with marble.  If you go with one, I say it will be called the Bay of Shields (yes, I really like that name).  So what is the next world wonder we could build for the dwarven empire anyway?  If it uses marble, it would be best to pick three.

Definitely three. Call it Marblepigs. Gotta love dwarven names.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.
