Ah well, we'll probably do better next time if you plan on trying again.  Either way, it was fun while it lasted.

Yup, another round tomorrow night. Had enough for now, need sleep. Any cool mods to suggest for the next round? Maybe a LoTR mod? Any ideas for next round will be greatly appreciated. Please, anybody, feel free to make any sort of suggestion.

I never have used any mods to be truthful, but I say it would be good to build up a large military force before you declare war on another nation.  Also, make sure to keep you research rate at 100% even if we lose money early on since we can gain an advantage in research against all the other nations and just make a lot more later.

...Holy cow.  You were trying to do an LP and actually got killed in the virtually-prehistory stage.  Damn son.

Yeah well I thought, that the ottomans might take a bit longer to get a warrior to my city seeing as they hadn't even discovered the boundaries of it. That settler also took much to long and I got carried away exploring. I have never started a war that early in the game before and didn't know how long to judge before they would attack.

Hmmm, let me try this again... Will use Celts instead of vikings to see if that makes any difference. Also may try a different approach with diplomacy  ::)

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I have increased the resolution to hopefully get better quality exported Jaypegs though it doesn't seem to be working. I could increase the quality by using print screen then saving with GIMP, but it is so much easier just to use the screenshot function already in the game.

And so we begin... Again...

Hmm, we come out of our caves for this?

A world of green, blue and yellow...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Surely these great masses of water can't be real. Oh how I long for the security of the caves again. But we were sent out, to make our mark in the world. Hearing of far away places where fellow cave dwellers have started to settle on top of the land, the elders figured we might as well go out as well.

A group of the scouts talked to the local above ground tribe of savages, he stole a map of the area from then ran. From the map, it appears to be another tribal village two days walk from here. I have sent the scout to investigate that as well.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Wonderful, the scout obtained the secrets of masonry from the tribe. This knowledge will be very helpful in the future.
Our settler has also settled down to the north along the coast, this place will make a great military city as there are plenty of hills and even a gold mine to exploit.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Our elders have advised the research of Meditation, apparently it is wonderful for the soul, but I ain't having that bullshit. My theory is that if this meditation thing catches on, we will be able to exploit it and suck every dollar out of it that we can.

After settling the city I noted the village to the north that we may be able to ransack. I immediately sent the scout in that direction.
Woo 107 gold!

The Celts? A good choice. Their special unit gets a bonus defending in hills. A good dwarven quality, if I say so myself.

Anyways, by default you must rush to mining. Not because it's necessarily helpful to the game, but because any good dwarf will want to know how to mine.

What leadership traits does Brennus have? Aggressive is one of them, if I remember correctly.

Some of my underlings ask, What is this world? I say to them, the world is something the elders call a Pangaea. What that is, I cannot say. Sound like a fancy word that means a whole lot of nothing.
The warrior our city was producing has finished being built and is now defending the city. Second in line is a worker to help clear the forest and hopefully speed up our production.
The research of meditation has finished and it looks like it paid off:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
This religion thing will be easy to exploit and if enough believe it, we will be raking in the coinage being the founder and all.
I have ordered the elders to look into the techniques of mining to see if we can get any more resources for building our armies from the hills. To the south our exploring scout has discovered a people known as french. For know we will let them live.
A map of the area explored:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Mining has finished research and now I am looking into the ways of monotheism. The more of these religion things the better I say. After a couple of turns of research, rumors have spread to me that others elsewhere in the world have founded Hinduism. Hmm, looks like someone else is trying to steal my ideas of raking in the gold.

(OOC: Brennus is Charismatic and spiritual, The charismatic will help with keeping cities happy as that is always a problem for me. The spiritual on the other hand is more so that I can rush to get the religions and then spread them to get an advantage in gold. There is never enough golds!)

Work has finished on the Worker, we are now building a dun to fortify the city and provide experience to all recruits in fighting on hills. I was going to build a settler but felt this would limit the growth of the city too much. We are still only small in size. If we are to send more away to build other cities, how can we grow? I told the worker to go build a mining station n the gold to the north west. This gold will be valuable in providing a boost to research and to the treasury.

An underling tells me I shouldn't treat these other civilizations with as much kindness as I do. I agree with him, but at the moment, I want to keep some friends to help defend me. If I can spread Buddhism to the French, then they will help me out in many situations. If I however find those dirty people who founded Hinduism. I feel eliminating them will be my only option.

You should try and have one ally. Not the French, they aren't allies. The French are money-bags on legs. No, find somebody else to ally with. Then, infect them and the French with religion. Keep the French for cash and your ally for war.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.
