Obviously these ottomen are the devil, you can tell it by the way they are taller then us!

Once tried to conquer Earth, and succeeded! Too bad it got really, really boring, really, really fast.

One day, we shall all look back on this, and laugh. Sorry about the face, by the way, and the legs, and the eyes, and the arms. In fact, sorry 'bout the whole body.

But what about their beards?  They look somewhat Dwarven, unless it is all a trick to try to get on our good side.  By the way, you don't have to worry about the scouts when they fight wild animals since they have a 100% chance to win against them from an ability.

Gah, the foul ottoman rats murdered our scout! Who do they think they are?

Meanwhile our other scout found more bounties down the river.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
A bunch of these weird but delicately soft cocoons. The scout tells me the locals that he pillaged refer to it as silk and that it comes from spiders, the best silk obviously coming from the largest and most dangerous spider. Hmm, remind me not to settle near this silk, it could be dangerous.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
From these locals that we pillaged, the scout received a map. Quite interesting, it appears the river runs into a heavily forested and rainy area known as jungle, from there the river eventually reaches a large fresh water pool called a 'lake'. This 'lake' is right next to an even larger saltwater pool known as an ocean. There are two more tribal villages to pillage around here and even further south, there are a people known as mayans settled down. Hmm perhaps I am not the only important person in the land. Maybe it would be best to not go to kill all those who aren't ruled by I. Well, at least until they don't out number me 2-1. Hmm, I will wait a while longer before ridding the earth of these mayans. One War is enough for now.

I have marked on the map where the mayans are with a blue dye and the two tribal villages with red dye. Which of the villages should I visit?

Both of course, but you should head for the closest one just in case someone trys to steal one of them.

Gah more panthers!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
My scouts made easy work of them though.

At the south-eastern village, the villagers gave me another scout. Joy this will replace the other one, lost to those damn dirty Ottomans. I have sent him off to explore further south while the first scout goes to the west to investigate the ocean and the remaining village.

What difficulty are you playing on, if I might ask?

I think he has it set on noble from the looks of the screen shot at the beginning.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

He treats me as inferior, he lives in forest, he has no beard, and doesn't even bother to wear a shirt in my presence. Ahh, he must be eliminated... but... can I do it? We are to weak at the moment. Later when we are strong, Pacal and his shirtless mayans will all be eliminated or assimilated.

(OOC: Yeah it is on noble difficulty, I have never won a game on noble as I only got CivIV a week ago. But have won two games on warlord difficulty quite easily (well only because of the UN, but still...)).

I say we surround the Ottoman with any warriors we currently have to stop any settlers they produce so they can't expand their empire.  This should make it easier for us while we build up on units to wipe them out.

Our elders have discovered the secrets of Bronze working. And luckily enough there is a large area of copper right next to Bay12...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Uh-ohh, those ottomans are approaching bay12 armed to the teeth... Err kind of...
Still our city will be over run and there is nothing I can do about it, maybe, just maybe, I can rush the scout back in time before the ottoman warrior reaches us. It will be close.

Wait, we don't even have any warriors?  Aw crap, I suggest making some after you finish that settler since this is going to be hard to survive being attacked with only scouts to defend.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Gah, I can't make it. My only option is to beg for Mehmid's forgiveness... Hopefully we will accept my apology and not take everything I have.
Annnnd no....
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Ah well.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Bay12 is taken by the ottomans, we are no more.

Well that has to be the shortest LP ever... Lesson learned, don't declare war if you ain't going to defend yourself.

Haha, this has never happened to me before:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Yeah, I should have splashed out on a warrior instead of a scout and kept him on the base to defend it.
