Turn 124, 225 AD:
Oh really now?
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

And what exactly have you done to deserve this?
In response to your greediness. I am going to close borders with you and severely limit your ability to get out of that little hole you have over there.

Turn 125, 250 AD:
Argh barbarians in the north pillaged our stone mine. To arms!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Turn 127, 300AD:
Our second great prophet was born. I sent him to Bay Twelve to build a temple of Solomon that will extract one gold from every city around the world that has Jewish residents.

Turn 136, 520AD:
Now he is trying to get me to switch religions... To a religion I founded.
Well, I would lose my current quest if I were to switch, and I don't want to submit to his demands so I say I will stay with Judaism for the time being.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

BayTwelve is now producing copious amounts of gold from the religious wonders it houses. I will now spend as much production as I can there on buildings that help boost research.

Turn 139, 580AD:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Mansa has built another city right next to my borders trying to push a way out. He is also amasing troops there. I don't like this one bit.

Turn 142, 640AD:
Taoism was founded in Marblepigs
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Turn 145, 700AD:
I have adopted Theocracy in order to provide our military units with more experience. We have also founded a new city out to the jungle covered north in between 5 dye producing plants. Currently nameless, anyone wanting to take control is allowed to. First come first served.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
In other news our army has grown in size to twelve units. Of those, 5 are catapult and 7 are Gallic warriors. Our conquest of Mansa will begin shortly.

Turn 150, 800AD:
We have declared war on Mansa, we will take what we deserve and will attack until he is forced to accept capitulation. I have sent the attacking force towards Kumbi Saleh, where he has a strong control of the region.

Turn 152, 840Ad:
Our scout has found the top of the world.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
It seems eerily like the bottom of the world. Cold...
In other news our military has bombarded the defenses of Kumbi Saleh down, and are preparing to attack tommorrow.

Turn 153, 860AD:
After the sacrifice of two catapults we reduced the defenses in Kumbi Saleh down to next to nothing letting the Gallic warriors attack and easily kill the defenders.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I have ordered a new government to be created here that obeys my command. A small contengency of the military has been left here in case of counter attacks, while the majority go north to take over Tadmekka.

Turn 155, 900AD:
Arg they have counter attacked Kumbi Saleh and nearly destroyed my defenders. I will have to send in more defenders.

Turn 158, 960AD:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
We have successfully attacked Tadmekka, taking it over and installing a new government. All but a few of the attackers to defend Kumbi Saleh. Hopefully they make it in time. In other news we have finally decided on a name and leader for our city out in the middle of the jungle. It will be called Stinking Hole and Errol is the proud leader. We have tried to get some workers to Stinking hole but they were intercepted by Mansa's scouts and stolen from us.

Turn 160, 1000AD:
Argh their counter attack was successful. We must counter the counter attack with a counter counter attack!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Turn 161, 1010AD:
They ain't taking it back this time, I'm razing her to the ground.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Also, we have some brilliant news, a great general was born in Pillagers. What to do with him? I have no idea. Is creating a super unit or a barracks like building out of him better?

I can take Tadmekka. Rename it to Evil Lair.

Settling him for extra XP for created units was the best iirc. You get two extra experience for each settled Great General in the city.

all this civ 4...  when i come back home, i'll make a lets play too. hopefully, it will go better than the last games.
at noble difficulty, i am finding it hard to win... to win by points, for example, i need to keep fighting for 40 turn against a nation who has better military and technology, sapping his only uranium mine while i build the first nuclear weapons.

and yes, settle generals when you can. after you have 4-5 in a city,+ buildings that give experience, + the wonders that give experience... you will have gods of war in that city.

But my alternate strategy was to use him on a single unit to upgrade that unit to level 6. I could upgrade that unit with all the healing upgrades and have a super healer that travels around with my stack and makes sure they are never low on health.

Yea, that's possible too, altho I prefer to settle my Generals.

Unless I'm missing something, spamming cottages and settlers should always be a sufficient strategy. Or try to get to Writing, build a library in your (hopefully food-heavy) capital, employ two sciencists and watch your science skyrocket.

Turn 162 1020AD:
I have settled the Great general in Pillagers seeing as it is our main military city.
Our research into Divine Right has also finished resulting in us founding Islam our in Stinking Hole.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
We have also renamed Tadmekka to Evil Lair and given control of it over to Myroc.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Turn 167 1070AD:
The Malinese have sent an attacking force to try take Pillagers, luckily it was intercepted by a gallic warrior defending a hill spot and is now severely damaged.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
In the meanwhile our military has been recuperating and is now about to launch an attack on Djenne which happens to be defended only by two skirmishers.

Turn 170 1100AD:
After much sacrifice, our attack team took over Djenni. We have gained control of the city and plan to keep it seeing as there are some nice wonders here.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Over to the north where we razed Kumbi Saleh. The Malinese have settled a new City calling it Tadmekka. Hmm that sounds familiar... What I thought was an attacking force trying to take over Pillagers must have actually been a force intending to defend this new city.

I declare that all units produced by Evil Lair shall be renamed to "- Minion" (For example: "Archer Minion", "Worker Minion", "Tank Minion" etc.)
