You get an extra card, but yeah, it is, also it is painful to be up against an archer with squishy units, I will have to recommend some tough resource producers that can survive archer attacks...

I figure that they kill whatever they attack and then head further into the fortress, eventually getting past all the defences and having a rowdy party...
