Wounded caravan driver, will they ever leave?

One of the traders in the dwarf caravan was recently injured after the caravan arrived. A goblin ambush ended up cutting off his hand with no other casualties. He's currently sitting there unconscious, waiting for something that can't heal to grow back.

Will the rest of the trade caravan ever leave my depot?

use dwarf companion to regrow his hand or they won't leave and go crazy.
OR for much much much more fun, make the wagons go berserk.

How about you suggest a useful gameplay suggestion instead of going straight to using a utility?

The caravan, when it says that it's embarked on its journey, will leave without him. Unless he dies or makes it off the map, he will prevent the same caravan from arriving.

Have you gotten the message that the caravan has embarked yet?

The caravan was trying to leave weeks ago. I'm pretty sure they aren't leaving without him - he's not a guard, he's a driver.

Trying killing him without injuring the other caravan members. That might make them leave him behind.
