note - evaporation in summer can be crazy. on my largest ever project, a huge damn on a scorching map, summer would cause the top 3 z levels to dissappear. they would come back during winter, but that was still crazy. filling things up during winter is easier. i used a set of massive stone drawbridges to lid over my outdoor water sources during summer.

After looking at some wiki and forum thread it appear that the water bug no longer applicable for 40d.

I'll need to test it out before giving further comments.
