I suppose this is as good a thread as any to post this Visual Fortress shot of my current fortress site:

The fortress is built inside the main peak, which is 94 z-levels high. At the base you can see the (unfinished) marble-coated entrance hall. At the moment there are 52 dwarves and the fort runs about 50 FPS slower than my usual forts

Weirdest cave river I ever saw. Also the only one I ever saw as frozen.

Found this whilst adventuring... as a migrating creature.

I figure it came from a bunch of merchants that showed up in the previous fort, which was abandoned before they left. But that doesnt explain why its wearing clothes, and a mask!

This fort was so much 'fun'.

You wouldn't happen to have the world gens for that would you?  I don't think I've ever heard of a pre-exposed cave river.

Collapsed the trade depot on the elven caravan.

Forgot it had 59 of my legendary stonecrafter's items in it.

EDIT: Also as it turns out the cave in punched a hole through to my lowest mining level, 17 z-levels down. And killed a miner.

I thought I missed one initially, but apparently the shockwave blasted him into a pond, so yay for me.

Most of their corpses ended up in the mining shaft, so I'm expecting them to start stinking it up anytime soon.

My latest fort is built in a huge underground cavern (which took 2 days to full excavate) which has a big pillar of stone in the center surrounded by magma in the bottom.

Still a WIP, but the overall design is more or less done. Now I just need to build up a city around it and dispose of all the hideous microcline and orthoclase...

Those were apparently the ones in the stockpile 1 z-level below the trade depot.

Thats the most inadvisable cave in I've ever seen.  Bravo.

Also, look just between and you'll find it's actually 66 masterworks lost.

I'm guessing they RAEGED?

Nope. Both of the dwarves who lost masterworks churned them out on an average of 1 per second. That is literal and entirely serious.

I tried counting then gave up. Needless to say all of my crafts are masterwork, as are most of my bone and wood crossbow bolts.
