hey guys if i take the new ship i will install the torpedo and the blasters i have the armour and the chaingun can be used for some1 who like to rush and kill.

also i attempt to increase the strength of the radio to avoid all the pops and hisses.

Diakron once again looks around at the destruction he and his fellow pirates had wrought, noting that once again he was left down to a core. he knew for a fact that in a 2024x2024 tactical training arena a torpedo could shoot from corner to corner but yet he still could not help but rush in. Noting the Derelict ship an idea form in his head.

I was hit. I'm supposed to be invincible. :(

Give Diakron the sniper if we can't just repair the ship and give him that. Keeping him with his little torpedo boat is going to get him killed unless it gets beefed up in a hurry.

Once we're back to ESD, repaired and refitted, I propose we find a weak trade route and haunt it for a while. We need some easy money to recoup whatever losses this fight incurred.

That was actually 3k by 3k. But yeah, everyone just wadded together. Which is weird, I always get spread too thin in singleplayer.

Anyway, Diakron is going to get a new ship, yes, and it will be pimpin'.

You are, of course, free to choose a plan of action in the meantime, as well as what upgrades you want.

Ok about my previous post i meant to say: hey guys if i take the new ship i will install the torpedo and the blasters i have, ( meaning on my ship ) the armour and the chaingun can be given to some1 who likes to rush and kill.

A weak TR would be nice; try and get some of those freighters with good stuff on them and use ESD as our new hideout.

Okay, I know how to fix this.
EDIT: Simple. Go to the ship editor.  You know how to change the name of a ship?  Changing the range your ships attempt to engage at is also in there.  Also, it is the same place you "set" the AI to kamikaze, but it apparently didn't work.  It's called AI range.
It is vital to making a custom ship work the way you expect it to.

I did set an AI range of 3000 on the flagship, and I know what it does. Yeah, I think I need to increase that on the whole.

it would be nice to be a Artillery support ship that actually uses the range of its artillery...

and could you post a copy of all our ships files so we can tinker with them and get a feel for how we want to upgrade them?

Sensei,if you don't mind I'd like to try something a little unorthodox with my ship.

I'd like the two front thrusters to be converted into flamethrowers. Forward firing of course.

A really fancy way to make a flamethrower is to take a particle cannon and change the shot sprite to spr_beam1shoot and enlarge the projectile size.(not much)

I'll leave the rest up to you.

Modified flamethrower?

I'll have my evil scientists look into it. The next ship upgrades are going to involve some R&D regardless, plus I've got some babysitting (no laptop, just me and summer reading far below my or any B12'ers textual comprehension abilities). Anyway, should be by tomorrow evening (MST, stinky swamp time) by the latest.

By the way, what chaingun? I don't think anyone had a chaingun... there were machineguns, blasters and gatling blasters, but that's it...

Anyway, I'm getting started on the next round of modifications now.

Armor level of wings increased, no visual changes.

It's a whole new boat! Key feature is the sniper and torpedo launcher.

Added a blaster, made it faster. (hey, that rhymes!)

SHADOWdump:
My evil scientists are looking into the flamethrower technology. However, during the testing, the weapon overheated and out test pilot (not Wil, I'm afraid) was grievously burned. We've got more redshirts like him, but to continue the testing we're going to have to sit your ship out of the next mission- if, of course, you're OK with that. We did get a good photo though:
