I think that that problem is what happens when you hibernate.  Try rebooting your system.

Quick question: how do you link things like Aegis Shields to sections? It keeps telling me to but I don't know how.

im off for tonight if this battle keeps going then i will fire at a) my biggest threat with my gun B) the strongest target with my torpedo or C) reload whilst moving into a better defended posistion

Immediately, everyone fires. Diakron's torpedo destroys a ship almost singlehandedly, and the fire from the Dojos' close range weapons make the DRM think twice about jumping in at less than the minimum safety distance.


Moments of fire later, there is little more than debris. All that remains is the ravaged command deck (literally, just a floating command deck) of the head fighter.


A voice crackles and gurgles in over your sticky comm set. This time though, most of the interference is due to the damaged ship sending the message. "Wait! *KRSHK* -er! Repeat, we surrender! I don't wa- *KRSHYRSHK* die!" The message ends with the POP that denotes a short circuited radio- you're not sure if it's yours or his.

As the only ships outside the base, the question of what to do falls on you.

Aftermath:

Lootz: To be counted- will mostly be spent on repairs to the Capitol Ship.

Damages:
Herinous:
Picture lost- Both gattling guns lost, from sections badly damaged.

Arkham:

Right section damage and guns lost, minor left damage.

SHADOWdump:

Minor left section damage, one gattling gun lost, major damage to left blaster.

OOC: That went way faster than I expected. Sorry for the delay in posting, I've been reorganizing the files used for this. I'll also have to make sure to name your ships after you so i don't have to double check whose ship is whose when you give orders...

Broose: Select the deflector or booster, and press T over what you want it to govern. HOWEVER, normal deflectors aren't linked to anything, you choose what they apply to ingame. You're using Aegis deflectors- they're totally invincible and never run out, though the generator itself can be destroyed.

I'll be back in an hour to discuss booty and upgrades, plus what to do with the prisoner if we have a majority opinion by then.

Did those ships have deflectors? That would explain why it went so fast.

Also:
Quick question: how do you link things like Aegis Shields to sections? It keeps telling me to but I don't know how.

I suggest keeping the prisoner. Keep him under guard at all times. Question him to find out what position he held in the fleet sent against us, any information on DRM ships he possesses, map information, and pretty much anything else we can get out of him.

When we're done with him, hold him until we find a way to dump him on a tribunal planet. No sense killing him, and letting him live may have a good effect somewhere down the line.

There are quite a lot of ways to torture the info out of him, but we'd have to kill him in the end. I say just ask, treat him fairly, and get him off the ship before he escapes and sabotages the hull.

You survey the loot. There are very large amounts of scrap metal. Plus, from the captured ship, you have enough parts to restore the capitol ship's warp drive. There are no other significant pieces of salvage. You have enough to repair everything, but the improve your ships will require some credits.

"Our new friend", Sensei muses, "may be of help here."

Hooray, I didn't even have to give orders and we won, despite the fact that Wil Wheaton is aboard! I count that as a victory right there, despite the horrifying damage to the ship.
