Now, as you may know, the biggest reason updates get delayed (aside from RL stuff) is that I cannot save a sandbox game. I must leave it open. Now if, say, my brother crashes the computer, I have to either skip the encounter, or painstakingly recreate the area. Hence, the long delay. I'll also have to get everyone and their ship back in gear. CJ might have to wait, but ShadowDUMP could be ready by next battle- we'll see. And like I said, I dunno how long I'll be able to keep this up again. A new captain is not out of the question.
There is, for a short moment, the unnatural silence of space, punctuated only by the fizzing of cheap soda.
"Armed squadron. Identify yourselves or we will open fire. Travel in this area is restricted." The voice is of a man, gruff, rather uncaring. Probably, you judge, willing to blast you to bits- as long as it isn't lunch break.
"We're here to, ah, deliver a medical shipment," Sensei said, motioning for a hush in the cabin. He couldn't do much to hide the fact that he was improvising. "Medical shipments get right of passage in wartime."
"Then state your clearance number."
"Hold on, let me whip it out..." Sensei said, in a bid to buy time. Then turning to private comms: "Guys! Anyone know what these stupid numbers are?"
"Oh!" Added in Zchris, "Lesee... medical... they're six digits preceded by a letter."
RAM saw this as his opportunity. "K-782395! It's the primary element and molar mass of the grape soda you so enjoy."
"RAM, please do not tell me the medical implications of that." Sensei flipped the comms on again. "K-782395."
"Invalid number."
A short pause.
"...but my accomplice tells me he recognizes the number. Ever since we moved all our framework to Aspect stupid bugs like this have been cropping up all over the place. Fuck if I know why the up-top thought it was a good idea. Everyone knows Yakigen operating systems aren't stable until the first couple of service packs are released."
Cleared as medical personnel, you fly through. It doesn't sound like this guy is eager to double-check as long as he can tell his boss that he tried.
Later on Yarogolek, Sensei hurries to address the crew before everyone but RAM has picked a favorite pub.
"Alright, I know it's been a long day. But let's discuss our ship modifications BEFORE we're drunk. Drunk ship modifications are fun, I know, but you usually end up regretting them. For that matter let's figure out what we're off to do and who wants to do it, too."
...so basically, sound off. I'll finish writing later. Plot hooks to be added!
...also, selling peels gains you monies.
