I'm considering designing a ship to submit as my potential interceptor,if you have any guidelines for me to go by when doing this it would be nice.

Boksi, thank you for volunteering. I'm not sure if this is really possible, but I was thinking something along the lines of a heavy-striker. Shaped kind of like a Halo-style human ship, or the TEC Kol from Sins of a Solar Empire if you are unfamiliar with the former.

The main gun would be a sort of super-cannon fixed on the front, and some shielding and rapid-fire guns on the sides. Speed is not an issue, as I'm going for more a tank style with this.

Sorry if this is all impossible, or newbish.

What sort of main gun? You could have a beamer, or maybe a triple-length beamer with double damage...
I am afraid that I am not familiar with the ships in question, could you link to a picture?

Would you want your rapid-fire guns to be point-defence or offensive?

As for CJ, it's not impossible nor noobish (few things really are, but I'm sure if I say nothing someone will go to lengths to prove me wrong). It seems like the purpose of this ship you have in mind is 'big gun forward gun with flank defense'. Perhaps I can do something along those lines. And yeah, are you talking point or offensive guns? or both?

He'd probably want the main cannon to be a Sabot Cannon/Super Railgun, like the Magnetic Accelerator Cannon from Halo, and flak cannons as PD.

This is just what I'm thinking he wants.

Also, is the new Acclamator balanced enough for me to use?

I certainly hope you are. As for your ideas, that was actually pretty much what I was asking for. I wasn't really sure if there was anything like that in this game, but that would most likely work for the main gun. As for the PD, flak cannons would work nicely as well.

So you want a ship that's essentially a large, pillar-shaped cannon designed to pierce a ship's defenses and strike her in her most vulnerable spots?



Not a final version. No weapons added yet, I just want to know if you're happy with the shape.

Personally, I'd think it would look cool if it looked like the ship was build around the cannon.

I could tinker around with some triggers and make the ship into one giant cannon, you know. In fact I intended to do just that, as soon as I hear from CJ. In the meantime, I'm going to try to make something for myself. The first prototype was inadequate and I've scrapped it.

Try it out. Feel free to tweak whatever values you want to; I think the gun might be a bit weak, but it's up to the lord of the game to decide what is overpowered, what is underpowered, and what is just right.

Apologies for the hiatus, you may know I've been quite sick. As for CJ's ship... if I save that in notepad as a .SHP, will it work? Because it keeps opening in my browser as a text file. From there I shouldn't have a ton of problems balancing it. I think.
