Surely we couldn't use the base you started from, conveniently located on the map on the first page (which I promise I will update, THIS time)?

Of course, if you want a different one, go for it. My personal suggestion -not that I enforce it- is that you raid a trade convoy or two.

Just for the pure awesomeness of it, I'm going to need to get a Vulcan cannon or three before this is all said and done. Spraying absurd amounts of bullets and missiles works just fine for me.

For now, let's find a convoy, kill them and take their stuff.

You sit on a warp lane and scan the comms for a likely target to head off- firing a few shots at a warp bubble is usually enough to disrupt it and force a convoy to stop. You pick something up:

"Breaker breaker, this is Longhorn. Do you copy, Bigbird? Over."
"Bigbird here, I read ya loud and clear. What's yer mumblin? Over."
"Did you ever wonder... why we're here? ...Over."
"This is Overflow, keep it quiet, greenhorns. You can discuss it at Ted's space diner if you have to- preferably while I'm in the bathroom. Over."
"And you're always in there for a long time! They're called Tornadoes for a reason Overflow, and I don't know why you keep eatin' 'em, hehehe. Ov'r."
"Bah, can it, Bigbird! Some of us like breakfast burritos, y'know. Over."

Moments later, they come within a few short kilometers of the Mauler's flak field.

"Oh crap, pirates!"
"Don't kill us- no, wait, kill Jerry!"
"Asshole... look, you can have George's cargo if you just leave us alone, okay?"



There are three freighters, six fighters and six PD frigates in escort.
Options:
>Accept their offer of one freighter's cargo
>Kill them all and take everything (Warning- any cargo sections you destroy before the core will reduce your loot!)

That is a lot of PD... Seriously,nothing is going to get through one boat's worth of flak coverage.

Actually, we have quite a few intercept chance 0 weapons. Enough to shut them down (I think).

Great. You take their stuff and bug out before they can learn any of your names. It's mostly a metal shipment, but you find of coffers of undetermined amounts of money too.

In the cafeteria at your base, you notice your DRM hostage.

Hostage: "Hey Fred!"
Cook: "Havin' the usual, Keith?"
Hostage: "Yeah. How's the wife and kids?"
Cook: "Oh, fine. I still haven't convinced the missus to pick up fishing though." He hands the hostage a -cat burger-, and a grape soda (shaken, not stirred).
It occurs to you that he's been here for a while.

You speak to the scientists in charge of the flamethrower (or if you don't, you don't read this paragraph )
"Yes, vee are almost done. But, vee vill need a supply of a very specific gas, for eet to vee evvective. I zhink I know a convoy zhat 'az eet, but eet eez vell guarded. Or vee could 'arvest some. Zhen I could replicate more. And then vee vill 'ave it... AS 'OON AS VON RICHTOFEN GETS BACK TO VERK!" he glares at another scientist who is reclined in his chair, listening to his MyPod. He also shows you a map, which points to the gas he needs being on the other side of the belt, near Tribunal IV.
