1. It increases your chances to dodge.
2. It makes you less likely to lose your weapon in case it gets stuck etc.

Ah, I've not heard that before.  If it is actually useful, I'll throw it in under the weapons pricing.  Where did you discover this?

...and that new participant would be me, I hope, as I have noticed that for some mysterious reason, I am not on the list, even though I signed up

My bad, I'll throw you on the list.

We're presently maxed out on players for the next tournament, and you are, at present, still very alive.  If you end up winning overall, I'll probably pit you against the champion of the next tournament.

It's in the wiki. The weapon stuck thing is really only useful for speardwarves though.

Yeah mostly, but slashing weapons (axes, swords) gets stuck too sometimes.

I didn't see it anywhere in the wiki page.  It mainly talks about how to exploit adventure mode.

It's true with slashing weapons sometiimes sticking. Happens to me from time to time in adventure mode with bith axes and swords.

Once, when I had a barely trained dwarf adventurer, he had the misfortune to come across a hydra in the wild. It tore apart his teammates, but I got a lucky strike in on one of the beasts necks with my axe. It got stuck and the thing pushed me off of my weapon.

For the next few minutes, it was a comical scene of my dwarf jumping and grabbing hold of his axe with all his limbs, only to be repeatedly pushed off the hydra again. No attacks were made until the beast fell unconcious from blood loss and I whacked uselessly at it until it bled out.

...

So yeah, slashing weapons do sometimes stick.

You can knock helmets off with an attack?

So cool.

Yeah, that would be cool if it could happen in-game.  Mainly, I couldn't think of a good way to just cut somebody's head in half while they're still wearing a helmet, so I threw in that little bit for flair.

Well, I also threw it in to make things more interesting.  The standard combat log can get kinda stale after 60 rounds of fighting.  I believe at this point I have seen every weapon-related death message.

Also, new fight coming later today.

I guess I'll upgrade my weapons skill with my money.

You still have $150 left over.  Do you want to use it?
