Round 15 - The Beta Tournament FinalGorshak, the smashing machine whose defense has yet to be fully penetrated:
Ravus Maniacus, the Roman swordsman whose sword goes unhindered by any armor:
Who is deadliest?
This battle looks to be the most promising. Both fighters have defeated the respective counterparts of their opponents: Gorshak defeating highly-skilled Org in Round 13, and Ravus defeating the moderately armored Hyperchicken in Round 14. Both fighters received crippling injuries and managed to recover in at least one round of their respective bouts, and both won by a narrow margin in our "Best 3 out of 5" round styles. In light of these circumstances, we have brought our combat simulator, designed by the brilliant minds at Bay 12 Games, to its peak thanks to a new automation. The details for this EPIC BATTLE SCENARIO can be read in the Technical Details section.
For the rest, the battle simulation, as rendered by Vester, can be viewed below:

I originally put up that poll to see if people would end up voting in the fashion that the battle occured (roughly 60/40), but I think when I posted the Gorshak / Org battle, that convinced enough of the fence sitters (and maybe even RavingManiac?) to vote "All Gorshak, All the Time." I guess I made a hilarious "Dewey defeats Truman" situation.
As for the battle scene, I loosely based it on the one suffocation that happened. By that, I mean there was a battle where Ravus got his sword stuck in Gorshak, lost hold of it, and strangled him to death. Once again, I'd like to thank Vester for her work on the illustrations for this battle.
RavingManiac, your victory has won your character $4800 to spend on skills and equipment, and the title of "Deadliest Dwarf". With the mandatory armor regulations, you will need to buy armor, and with its increased effectiveness, you may want to buy some. Additionally, you may choose a title for your weapon. Due to the way I'm going to make it work, it needs to fill the blank in "_____ short sword"
Blast, your progress through the tournament has granted your character the right to live, $2400 for skills and equipment, and the title of "#1 Contender." Because of the pricing change, I'll let you sell your armor back for full price.
Essentially, I wrote a script in AutoHotKey that does the following: Start DF
Load up my colliseum save
Start Dwarf Companion
Set one of the dwarves as hostile
Turn on combat logs
Switch back to DF
Let battle play out for 15 seconds
Start Task Manager
End DF
Close Dwarf Companion
Loop
I cleared the gamelog.txt file, and I left this running while I slept, and when I woke up the next morning, I had 1000 battles played out. I then copied the whole of the gamelog into an Excel spreadsheet. It was quite fortunate that I had two combatants with different weapons because I made a bunch of IF statements looking for specific strings (e.g. "It collapses into a lump of gore!") and autosummed the number of times these strings appeared. From this, I was able to establish the number of KILLS. Any battle that did not have any death strings (meaning it exceded the 15-second time limit) was classified as a draw.
If anybody really wants me to upload the Excel sheet as proof, I will.
Due to time constraints, this is probably how most of the Nerf Tournament will play out (at lower battle numbers, and maybe with videos).
Unfortunately, because I couldn't quickly find a way to make variable names for movies, no movie files were saved as a result (plus, I didn't want to sift through 1000 videos). It's just as well, though, because no in-game fight could really establish how epic this final battle was.
