How about honey as a collectible resource? I see a lot of ant hills, why not bee hives? They can take a special skill to collect or cause damage.

Ugul Haheim, Apiarist cancels job (collect honey): Interrupted by bees.

If fisherdwarfery were ever made more complex then dwars could harvest ant eggs from anthills to use as bait.

I fully support the inclusion of honey, and more importantly mead. My modded honeypod plants are a nice substitute, but can't beat the real thing.  :D

Stray deer cancels Drink: Covered in bees.

Yes, beehives and honey would be awesome.

Of course, you'd have to add giant bees, too. <_<

Don't forget the Killer (African) bees.  Much more aggressive than the Honey (European) Bees because their native land has more predators.

Honey bees are pretty docile unless you threaten the hive or queen, Killer bees are super-paranoid; that if you are far away from the hive, but possibly a threat if you got close enough, they'll attack you.

Killer bees also can bread with honeybees, but given the limitations to game play, they probably won't cross breed in DF, until Toady gets Horses and Donkeys to make mules.

Honeybees being docile wouldn't stop a dwarf from running in fear.
