Lower the video quality of everything?
It might not help much with Dawntide since most everything is outside, and almost all it's graphics options are draw distance. I think DT has low FPS anyway. I've seen it drop down to 15-30 regularly, but it still runs fairly smoothly.

After all, this is the DF community. We know low frames per second.

Eh, not really. There's a wiki with some information, as well as a fairly helpful forum, and an ingame helpfile(press H or click the question mark button on the bottom left row). Other than that, you're pretty much on your own.

As Inteuniso hasn't done anything with the Bay 12 faction other then invite me, I left it and started a new one.

I'll try to be on for most of today. If anyone wants an invite, /t Krinlon or /t Orinlon (I'm so creative with names). If I'm not on, then try back a little later, as I'm probably switching characters.

Yeah, the faction was kind of bugged. And I was busy with school.

Anyways, I need to make a new character, as my old one was poorly specced. I'll join your faction today Nirur.

They recently applied a patch (Changelog - Hotfix Changelog), it fixes bugs (the one that made players fall underground, and others) and changes the combat system so the player has to interact more with the games during battles. (spells are now instant, but have cooldown).

Aha i met you ingame and i didnt know you were from B12 ^^

Remember the guy who found your copper stash ? it was me :p

I have 2 characters so far: Sirian (miner, lumberjack, carpenter, armorsmith, weaponsmith) and Aralim (leatherwork, herbalist, alchemist, skinner, tailor)

I'm not sure if i'll keep playing or not, but i'll give it a fair chance, so far i was mostly put off by some annoying bugs, like how the curative recipe (vital for leatherwork) is missing, along with other things, from the npc shops. Some things are really slow for my taste, like cutting trees takes forever, but i hope it'll be better when i get higher quality tools. I would really like to be part of the group if we have a b12 faction, because right now it feels kinda dead and having to make multiple characters for different jobs is just much less fun than being part of a team. Also it would be cool to have something to work towards other than "lets max my skills". I'd love to be part of the effort in building a town, boats, whatever.

So apparently you cannot settle on the first island, so we will need a boat, and a bastion to claim territory. We will also need to be somewhat independent.

That means we need the following professions:

Carpenter
Mason
Tailor
Armor/Weaponsmith(for nails, there is no blacksmith)
Leatherworker(for armor)
Lumberjack
Fletcher(if we want bows)

So can people sound off with their professions? that way I can get them in.

Sirian(armor/weaponsmith, carpenter)
Nirur Torir
Inteuniso(armor/weaponsmith, leatherworker)

Also, nirur, you getting on today?
