If this is half as good as it sounds then I've found my new goto game. Hopefully we can get some sort of dwarfly society going.

...Dwarfly pirate society.

And I may finally be able to do what I have wanted to do in past games like this, (Well, one, Wurm) Build a hidden dojo in the mountains and train others in marital SMASH FACE arts.

We are gathered here today to witness the graduation of Jimmy-san and Brenda-san to Rank III Holy Matrimony...

Half the keys sent already (5 out of 10!) :P

I'm having a hell of a time trying to find stone for masonry though, although I guess I can't really build anything until I get exploring in border and lawless areas..

Seems the website is having troubles right now, so forums and bug tracker are both broken :<

Any chance I can get in on this? This is sounding pretty interesting.

Interestingly, Armok's name actually originates from arm_ok, a variable in one of Toady's earlier games that kept track of how many of your arms weren't missing.

I might play this if the follow question's answers are yes.

- can you build houses anywhere you want like in WURM

- Is the game hacker free?

- is it NOT like WoW with the quests and kill x amount of creatures for x amount of items?

- not anywhere, there are established areas run by the NPCs, but mostly that's just the starter island.

- no game is hacker free and it's hard to tell at this stage in beta how hacking will be.

- it really has nothing in common with WoW in any ways, there are few quests at all

So, a few tips for my newcomers (only 2 keys left for now, but don't worry it opens friday anyway like I said)

- the R key is a good friend, if you're a miner or mason it is the skill to find minerals in areas that have them.
- Lumberjacking is a good way to get cash and skill going in the start to pay for recipes, go up the hill north east of starter town and you'll reach it.
- There are a LOT of physx/clipping issues at the moment. If you fall through the earth, try /fixme in chat.

Now's a great time to get acquainted with the systems, just don't get too attached to your characters as I would imagine characters will get wiped Friday for open beta launch

How long will the open beta last? This sounds like it has some nice potential to eat up my summer, though I'm not sure I'd want to pay.
