Health is a measure of how long you can last before you die. Health is measured in percentages.
100% being full health,
0% being death. It is advisable to stay in high health as your stats deteriorate when you are on low health, and when critical even the slightest sensations can knock you unconcious.
Regeneration and RestorationFor every turn without combat, your health will naturally regenerate by 2%. Although it is not much, it can save your healing items for when you need them. You can find several things such as bandages and food to heal yourself. Food gives slight, minor healing (5-10%) and are the most common to find. Bandages and other medical supplis heal well (10-20%) but are rarer. You can also pay money at hospitals and clinics to be 'fixed up'. This will heal your health back to max, but will cost you a lot.
The PenaltiesWhen you are on low health, you begin to suffer penalties to your stats.
The Physical and Mental trees are effected, the Social tree is not. Below are the percentages at which the stat erosion begins. You can remove the effects by healing your health above the mention percentage.
Below 60% HP - Strength, Agility, Intelligence and Perception degrade by 1.
Below 40% HP - The Physical and Mental attributes degrades by 1, Strength, Agility, Intelligence and Perception degrade by 2. You can now fall unconcious.
Below 20% HP - The Physical and Mental attributes degrades by 2, Strength, Agility, Intelligence and Perception degrade by 3. You fall unconcious after 10 turns unless you heal yourself.
Below 10% HP - The Physical and Mental attributes degrades by 3, Strength, Agility, Intelligence and Perception degrade by 5. You fall unconcious after 5 turns unless you heal yourself.
DrugsDrugs are primarily consumed for a quick fix. No drug heals health, but there are many legal pills that boost your stats temporarily. Drugs last for 5 turns. However, when the duration ends, you will suffer reduced stats in the previously boosted attribute for 2 turns. Also, you cannot take any pills for that duration.
For Example:
You pop some BuffOut. You suddenly feel much more stronger. Strength +3 (17).-5 TURNS LATER-
You suddenly gasp and stumble. BuffOut has worn off. -2 to strength (12) You cannot take any pills.-2 TURNS LATER-
The side effects from the BuffOut has worn off. Your strength has returned to normal (14). You can now take more drugs.Drugs helps boost you temporarily, providing a quick, if risky, boost. You have to time your consumation carefully. Also, remember that some pills are illegal... others may be spiked. Be careful when you grab that random pill of that old dude!
