So I found this blog posting about Evony. The guy actually wrote up a series of posts detailing what's going on with the game.

Apparently, we're lucky we haven't been forum spammed with ads for the game.

Following the links above led me to the Popehat article on Evony.  God, Evony is a bunch of vile crap.

On a side note, I never knew Popehat existed till now.  They rule.

I'm thinking of taking him up on his offer to let people copy/paste his article. Then I can post it on my own blog and hopefully follow some of the comments to his post (i.e. tell the guys to f-off).

Heh, thanks for pointing me there... definitely like. They have a reasonable stance on controversial evidence and cite facts. Lots of facts.

His site isn't exactly unbiased, nor are both side of the comments exactly sane.

Still, i don't play the game. If i wanted to play a browser based game, the first one i'd go to would be (back) to Realms of Mayhem. One of the best i've found out there.

Ugh... "Evony wants to sue me for telling the truth"? It doesn't have malware. It doesn't spam. All the advertising methods are perfectly legal, if not a little misleading. And with all the people saying that it's owned by "WoW gold farmers", I don't see any real evidence of this. It doesn't rip off customers any more than most companies do.

Well, I say, let them sue. Suing them would prove who's telling the truth. I'm all for fighting annoying ads, not for slandering companies. I hope both of them lose money from the lawsuit, with Bruce losing more.

But on the evony ads, there's some new ones that are far worse. Maybe I'll take a screenshot later

Oh, hey, I'm a bit late to reply to it, but those Plants vs Zombies ads are pretty awesome.

I just want to know why Microsoft hasn't ripped them a new one yet. They own AoE II, from which Evony shamelessly stole it's graphics. Seriously, this is very non-Microsoftlike behaviour.

If I was Microsoft, I'd wait until they were worth a few million, at the peak of their success.. then I'd sue them for all they're worth.
